Mickey, Hitler or a close cousin? You decide.
The only surviving child of Walt Disney has called Hamas "pure evil" for using Mickey Mouse to teach islamic radicalism to children. Diane Disney Miller said she was disgusted that a rip-off of her father's iconic cartoon character was being used on a new Hamas TV show to encourage Palestinian children to take up arms against Israel and America.
"Of course I feel personal about Mickey Mouse, but it could be Barney as well,'' Ms Miller, 73, told the New York Daily News.
"It's not just Mickey, it's indoctrinating children like this, teaching them to be evil,'' said Ms Miller, who owns a winery in northern California.
"The world loves children and this is just going against the grain of humanity.''
The Daily News revealed this week that Hamas' Al-Aqsa TV station began running the new children's series in April.
Called Tomorrow's Pioneers, it features a life-size Mickey Mouse character named Farfur.
Farfur speaks in a high-pitched voice and wears a tuxedo with tails and a red bow tie. He tells children to drink their milk and pray, but also sings about kids arming themselves with AK-47s and striving for world domination under Islamic leadership.
The Disney Company had no comment but Ms Miller praised the New York Daily News for informing the public about the program.
"What we're dealing with here is pure evil and you can't ignore that,'' Ms Miller said.
"I'm awful glad you're doing something about it, writing about this and keeping it in the public eye as much as it can be.''
Hamas officials denied they were using the show to incite children against Jews.
"Our problem is not with the Jews,'' Yehia Moussa, a Hamas leader in the movement's Gaza Strip base, told The Associated Press.
"Our problem is with the (Israeli) occupation and the occupiers.''
But the show also got bad reviews from Hamas' political rival, the Fatah movement, headed by Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.
"I don't think it's professional or even humane to use children in such harsh political programs,'' said Basem Abu Sumaya, head of Fatah's Palestinian Broadcasting Corp, told The AP.
"Children's nationalist spirit must be developed differently.''

CNN as well as all L A area tv news channels reported late Fri. night & Sat. this Hamas evil propaganda was to be pulled from airing on Hamas' Al-Aqsa TV stations. Hope this was valid news! The Mickey shown is such a poor likeness, but still would appeal to all children.   Very relevant post LDC! Thanks for your brilliants as usual.

I'm sure there's a special place in Hell for the people who came up with this perversion of Mickey.

How about the Tiki Room while being handed tracts by Christians; engulfed by crowds of cheerleaders, heelie wearers, foreign tourists and SGs; and run over by ECVs and stollers. I got some Disney things that would be torture.
Cannot do politics or I would lock him up with some people. Very sad story indeed.

These videos are horrifying! This is what hate does. And to teach children to hate so young...this is a pitiful shame for the world. I am very saddened by these videos. And afraid for the future of all people. Thanks you LDC for sharing this and making more of us aware. I did not know about these videos. What lengths these people will go to to teach their hate is despicable.
The world NEEDS to know about this.

Farfour the rat was killed in the last episode by Israelis. He died a martyr at the hands of children killers. Read it and weep friends. Such a shame that they are teaching kids to hate.

I really can't believe Disney isn't taking legal action towards this. (Yes, the following rant will be paraphrased from a similar one by al lutz but i had the same thoughts)
I mean, its one thing to sue a day-care for images drawn in the window but using Mickey for a hate-driven rant against Jews, where is the dignity? This is going to disillusion so many young children and destroy their sense of right in the world. I mean they even use little children in the television show. This is nothing more than mind control. I'm really sure that any religious figure from a**ah to G*d to buddah to whatever those scientologists worship. (tom cruise?) wouldnt stand for such a thing.

Hard to do when there really is no laws against this type of behaviour, otherwise it would have been dealt with swiftly :) Unless of course Disney has plans to send their militia to take them out :)tacoboy wrote:I really can't believe Disney isn't taking legal action towards this.

Did Disney really need to jump into the fray? This character video was internationally condemned, palestinian TV has agreed to stop producing it in light of the outcry, and Disney didn't have to lift a legal finger. Yes, some wish they'd done more in response to this, but I kind of like their disdain -- as in "It's vile trash, everyone knows it is, and it isn't worth dignifying with our time."
"This would be a great place if we could only get rid of all these people." - Walt Disney
