I now work at 2 parks! WTF!?!?

Post by CycloneMan » Fri Mar 30, 2007 8:35 pm

Well, as most of you know, I am a Jr Docent at the Staten Island Zoo (I'll be in a costume tomorrow :grim: . But something bizzare happened last night. I got a suprise call yesterday from Astroland (Coney Island). Apperantly, Marie Martino, the parks PR, kept bugging Mark Blumenthal to give me an interview. She kept telling them that they needed me to work there, so they gave me a call and my interview was today at 3 in the office. Last year I had an interview, that didn't go to well. It turned out, I was too young to work there. But I'm old enough now. To work in rides, it's an NYC law that you must be over 18, so that was out. So I considered games. And I got the job :rasta: ! So now, I will be working at two parks!

WOW. I can only imagine your confusion.
About a year ago,my superviser gave me a coffee cup for a 'job well done'. I thought to myself,"Shit,I was just doing my job".
Take it all in stride.Do you have any idea how many people 'skate' through their jobs, and bitch about no recignition. Of course, there are 'alot' of folks who bust a hump, and don't get "SQUAT". :(
I learned a long time ago,"It may not be the 'best' job in the world, but ACT like it is". :o:
Hang in there, and just know YOU did the job to best of your ability.

Working here is like peeing your pants in a blue suit. It gives you a warm feeling but nobody notices.

Don't be fooled by appearances. In Hawaii, some of the most powerful people look like bums and stuntmen.

Thanks. I worked at Hot Topic and I hated it. This one guy was so nasty and misserable all the time (not Emo, but like a "bro" kid) and he hated me. he'd make do things thta he didn't want to all because I was new. I worked my ass off and didn't get shit, though there were a few cool people I worked with. In the end, the mall didn't give them any hours to give me, and I've been an employee with no hours for three months!

As for the Zoo, it's volunteer, so now I get paid to deal with these people!
