New CM, well almost.

Post by JustZac » Wed Mar 21, 2007 12:51 am

Well I'm back from a two-week trip to Orlando. I had an interview with Casting to become an Attractions CM, since I'm not moving until May, they couldn't hire me until closer to my move when they could tell me what's available, but the recruiter was very enthused to hire me, and said as long there are jobs to fill, he would offer me one. So we'll see.

I did discover a few things on my trip though. CMs sure know how to party. My partner, a former CP, dragged me to quite a few parties. Waking up puking then going to Epcot was something I never thought I'd do. And I love the Orlando Alehouse, great place to hang out. Finally went to Universal, they have some amazing stuff there, Spiderman was really cool!

And a big thumbs up to all the CMs that made my time at WDW really amazing. :) Keep up the great work.

Just how hard is it to get a job at WDW?? My wife and I are retiring soon and moving to Orlando to hopefully work part time at WDW. Any advice on getting hired and what are the current pay scales? Thanks!!

I am 66 and retired. I live about 20 miles from WDW. They are very much always looking for people.

I have told them my availability is Wednesdays and Thursdays only. I work at Typhoon Lagoon as, depending on the day's assignment, either a Turnstile Greeter (paying $7.21) or Ticket Sales or Guest Relations (these pay $7.51).

Normally I am assigned only six hours per day, but sometimes it can be as many as eight hours. I do not get medical insurance (my choice, much better as a retired Federal employee) but get all other CM benefits.

WDW is like DLR, they are ALWAYS hiring CMs! This is the perfect time to apply as summer is almost here. Different depts. begin with different pay levels. You'll never make a fortune at WDW but I'll bet you'll have a good time & enjoy most days. :) Go to Casting, fill out the paper work (not much at all) & interview. You'll be hired faster than pixie dust falls. Zazu is much better with WDW hire info. PM him. Somewhere in these threads are the 4 main questions you'll be asked. Let me know if you can't find them. I'm sure the DLR interview questions are very similar to those asked at WDW. Go try!! Good Luck, & stay with us on SGT site. ;)

WDW is Looking for bus drivers all the time. $9.35 an hour.

WDW will train you, pay for your class B CDL (after 3 months), provide the bus for the test and issue you a fantastic, one of a kind, dress purple costume!

You will get to meet me or Big Wallaby (lucky you :D: )

PM me if interested.

You mean these questions:

1. Are your breathing?
2. Do you know how to smile?
3. Can you smile and stand up at the same time?
4. Can you start tomorrow?

Aww, Main Streeter, you know just how hard those are for "some" people. I could name 3 at my work alone. And you know what? That's pretty sad.

I second that. I love those questions, Zazu. :D:

But, Main Streeter has pretty much got it right on the head there. I bet there is such a high turn-over rate at either DWD or DLR that it sounds like, in comparison, an assembly line of CMs coming and going.
