I would like to thank a Cast Member.

Post by iactstupidonoccasion » Sat Mar 17, 2007 6:02 pm

I joined this board a few weeks ago, but have been a lurker until now. I've been going to Walt Disney World for quite a few years now and I just wanted to state how appreciative I am of all of you.

There's one Cast Member who I would really like to thank, though. I was at the Adventurers' Club this past Wednesday just having a good time and chatting with the characters. All of a sudden, a guy staggers into the Club shit-faced drunk. Jokes are often made about alcohol consumption at the AC, but this guy was really dangerous. They had to call in the police on him and the Cast Members who played Pamelia and Emil that evening had to break character to help get him out.

I had never seen somebody that drunk before and I was so disturbed by what I saw that I started crying. The character of Samantha Sterling saw how frightened I was, so she got me some water and she talked me into calm. She really helped soothe how nervous I was.

So, if any Pleasure Island Cast Member here knows the actress who played Samantha this past Wednesday, please tell her that I can never thank her enough for her help. She is a very important person and I'll always remember her kindness.

Sincerely,

John

Aren't AC CMs great? They have to deal with the severely trashed all the time. One of my trip reports talks about the time we saw the Drunkest Woman in the World at the AC. That wasn't quite as frightening as your ordeal, but the characters were forced to break character then as well.

I'm sorry that your AC experience was wrecked, and I hope you'll enjoy your next one better.

Here's an interesting follow-up. When we went down in 2005, I had bought along a camera to take pictures of the trip. When I visited the Adventurers' Club that year, I took a picture with the maid that evening. Due to various issues, we didn't get the film developed until this year. The 2005 camera was developed at the same time as the 2007 one. I had taken pictures of this year's AC excursion as well.

I looked at the photos and I saw something interesting.

The actress who played the maid on my visit in 2005 was the same one who played Samantha Sterling 2 years later. I just found that really interesting.

I'm looking forward to next year's trip. Between the money left over from this trip and my bonus from work this quarter, I already have 360 dollars saved up.

I look forward to next year's trip and I wish all of you calm and grace.

-John

Yeah, I noticed they trade off when I visited the AC several times on a trip a few years back. What scared me was that the place has regulars/fanboys who visit and know each configuration of cast. I heard one of them talking to another about it.

This isn't about the AC but I would like to thank several CMs. We were at WDW last week for 7 days and, as usual, we had a wonderful time. Thanks to everybody who made our time there special. We have been coming to WDW ever since 1972. We also came on our honeymoon and couldn't afford the $35 per night fee for the Contemporary, so we had to stay outside the world at a Days Inn for $8 a night. Since then we have visited over 60 times and each of those times was special because of the cast members. On our last visit, Crispin, at the Brown Derby, was a wonderful server. He loved his job and it showed. Special thanks, Crispin. Also, thanks to the lady working in Sid Cahuenga's at Disney MGM. She made my day by listening to my answers to the trivia quiz. I was sure I had missed most of them, but I was completely correct and she made me feel special. A shout to all character cast members. You people are so incredibly talented! To convey character while trapped in a bulky costume is truly amazing. Thank you for the special magic you create. Hey...just thanks to every CM. Your job is a tough one but most of you do it with such style.
