God, I hate stupid guests.

I had a guest today ask in my store to open up a box to see what was inside despite the fact that we had stocking hanger out on display right on top of the closed boxes). I tell him EXACTLY what's inside the box and even show him the picture on the front of the box as well as the one out on display. He keeps on insisting to see the one in the box so I eventually open it and show it to him. After showing it to him, he says "Ok I have to get another one." He then proceeds to get one off the shelf which hasn't been opened and walks away leaving me to pack back up the one I just showed him.

Lord, those people were the bane of my life when I worked in stores - if you expect something relatively inexpensive to be perfect without a squiggled line, you are shopping in mental dreamland. If they want perfection, they'd better be shopping at Tiffany & Company, Cartier or David Orgell for their knick knacks...

Jeeze,this reminds me of a time 'years' ago. A customer of african-american decent came into the building supply store where i worked. I was in the electrical section when he asked for black swag lamp chain.
customer," Say bro you got any black chain?"
me "Yes sir,right over here.how much do you need?"
C "I need 12 ft."
m "I'm sorry,we only have 5ft left."
C "You got any out back?"
m "Sorry this is all we have left."
C "Are you SURE ?"
m "Yes." (I worked in receiveing,so I knew exactly what we had on hand)
C "can you check."
m "Sure ." ( go back,step outside,have 1/2 a smoke, and tell the C "Sorry man we're all out."
I kid you not 10mins later,same customer with a salesmen.
C "Say bro,you got any more black swag chain?"

I had something similiar happen last week. A guest came in and wanted coffee. (we have coffee in our lobby 24 hours) I checked and the hot pots were empty. So I said I would have fresh coffee in about 15 minutes. She sees me take the pots out and comes back not 5 minutes later asking for the fresh coffee. I tell her it's not ready yet. She leaves and comes back 5 minutes later. Again same deal. Comes back again and I have left to pick up the now full and fresh pots to put back in front. I set the pots on the table and she immediately gets a cup, makes a face and looks at me. "THIS COFFEE IS COLD. THIS ISN'T FRESH AND I HAVE BEEN WAITING HERE FOR 20 MINUTES. WHERE IS THE GIRL WHO PROMISED ME FRESH COFFEE?" she says in a loud and rude voice. I tell her that would be me and that I did just make that coffee. She argues that she didn't talk to me, it was another girl. I say that's impossible, as it is 1am and I have been here since 11pm and I am here by myself. She calls me a liar and wants to talk to the manager. I say that would be me, how can I help you? At this she is so shocked that she just makes another cup and says, "Oh, it's okay now. I must have left it sitting out too long." I simply smile and say nothing as she walks out with her face turning red. Ugh...

last year i had this lady come into star trader looking for this 50th aniversary hoodie/sweater in a small.

she had been to every store in both parks and couldnt find it. i told her we were all out parkwide...i offer to check in the back, but sure enough we were out. she goes up to the maniquin display and she checks the tag and sees that it is a small.

as we are calling every store in the park, to humor her, she offers to buy the one off the display. after i explain we cant, seeing as we are not allowed to and it isnt sanitary having been up in the dust for months she offers me a bribe in addition to the cost. she then offers me a larger bribe to take it down and then look away. i say no. she begs and pleads some more and i tell her i "will go talk to my manager and see what i can do"...which meant going into the stock room and laughing my butt off...

i come back out and the cm is still calling stores....and i catch the lady undoing the pins holding the sweater on the display. keep in mind this display is on top of a table with a bunch of folded sweaters on it, and pretty high up. she has the thing half off when i tell her she cant do that. she ignores me. i demand for her to stop, she ignores me....i go in back and get a male cast member who is normally a lead and he takes the sweater out of her hands and puts it back up where it is supposed to be.

the cm on the phone says that we are sold out park wide and she called everywhere. i glare at guest, the lead glares at the guest, the guests husband is standing in the corner looking embarrassed and is glaring at her and she says "oh well thanks anyways...." grabs her husbands hand and walks off.....



and then there are a million photopass guests who insist/beg/bug/drive me crazy trying to let them keep the pictures we print out that are not to their liking. "oh, its a little dark, i cant accept this....wait can i keep that one too?" or "no, we wanted it with the border but for waiting the extra minute and a half you should give us the one without the border as well!".....bah humbug.

Yet another stupid guest I ran across the other day at Company D. The telephone conversation went like this:

Me: Company D this is _______.
Guest: Are you open?
Me: We are open until 8.
Guest: Ok so you are still there?
Me: Yes we are open until 8.
Guest: Ok.

I work at Target and have these guests all the time :( Always opening packages of underwear to check the size and then they take the closec packages. What gets me is there may already be another package or 2 open of the same size, but they have to open a new pagage :mad:
