I'm an idiot!

Post by Guest Relations King » Sat Jul 12, 2003 12:05 am

I just wanted everyone to know that I sucessfully locked myself out of my StupidGuestTricks.com account today! I tried different passwords and combinations, and after about 20 minutes, I gave up. I sent an e-mail to whoever runs this site, and after making a fool out of myself, I finally figgured out what I was doing wrong.

I guess I needed to add the spaces to my name when trying to reset my password.

Is anyone else willing to admit their own Stupid Tricks???

My buddy left his job at Universal and fled in exile as a neanderthal to live in the Cayman Islands....He's cut himself off from all technology. He sends his stories in Aramaic on crayon written 3x5 cards sent by pigeon.

well...........

I was trying to go in one of the back doors in Mansion (there's a little patio between the big house and Splash that can be used for evacs) - anyway, I forgot which way the door swung and couldn't understand why it wouldn't open. I ended up ripping the thing off it's hinges, it was so rotted from being out in all kinds of weather for so many years...
after that, certain people started referring to me as a "manly woman..." But actually having a reputation for ripping a door off it's hinges keeps the jerks and geeks in your department from hasselling you for a date...

Stupid me tricks

Post by Righthander » Fri Jul 25, 2003 3:41 pm

One summer (1991ish) we had canoe races first thing in the morning and then I had a raft shift scheduled for later that morning. I had little sleep the night before so I went to the mansion to find a place to catch some zzzz's before my shift. I curled up comfortable in a balcony behind the ballroom scene and slept for an hour or so. On my way out I stopped in the mansion bathroom and noticed that I was COVERED in fake dust. This stuff is worse than real dirt as it would not come off of the raft costume. I ended up going back to get a new costume and ended up late for my shift. Dammit!

Me: "Uh, that would be the Matterhorn."

I remember when I worked at Buzz, I kept getting hit by that car when they first put it on, and I remembered seeing that red light, but not having it click that it was tied to the wheelchair car. After a while I just stopped walking that damn belt, and within a month I transfered because I kept getting scheduled at Buzz, which I hated working.

I've got ya beat...

I once called the number you can call for help with the portal... and told her I KNEW that this is what my password is, but it wasn't working. Now I had forgotten my password a few times before, but this time I knew for SURE what it was, there was no doubt in my mind. As it turns out, I was right, BUT I was mispelling my own password! :hammer: I think she had a good laugh after hanging up with me.

In my defense, I'd only been a CP for... a month, or so. When my family came down to visit me and see the sights we all went to DAK. (My first time there as well.)
My mom actually asked one of the CM's in "Africa" whether his costume was something representative of something worn in his native tribe. (granted, the gentleman spoke with an obvious foreign accent and was apparently african-american, but the costume was one of those day-glo orange affairs that they can only get away with at DAK)
At this point, my rational mind melted and I too waited with baited breath to hear about the origins of his ever-so-stylish wardrobe.
As I recall he was quite polite and I believe he told us that indeed, the costume was modled after aincent tribal wear.
We BELIEVED him! It wasn't until about two weeks later as I was putting on my own costume that I realized what we'd asked!

"How much are the mugs? Well the 13 large signs at eye level all say the mugs are $12.99.. so I'm gonna go with that."
