Crime in the Magic Kingdom
Crime in the Magic Kingdom
I saw on the news yesterday that a couple of parking attendants got robbed at gunpoint at DL. Frankly, I'm amazed that with all the cash handling throughout theme parks, that stores, vendors, etc. haven't been robbed repeatedly over the years. Yes, I know we all get robbed in a different sense when we work at these places, but... Is this a first, or have there been other incidents?

Years ago I read in the paper, some yoyo was trying to steal a car from the parking lot. He was confronted by a security guard, who was promptly shot by the perp.Luckly the guard was wearing a bullet proof vest.
And we go to the parks to escape this garbage. :(

I seem to remember sometime in the 90's, I think, that one of the original Mouseketeers and her family was held up in the parking lot at DL.

Disneyland parking toll booths robbed
No arrests have been made, police say.
BY SPENCER KALLICK
The Orange County Register
A parking toll-booth attendant was robbed Tuesday, the second armed robbery at a Disneyland lot in the past two weeks, authorities said.
Two unidentified men drove up in a dark-colored Porsche at about 3:50 p.m. Tuesday. One man got out of the car, walked up to the toll booth and demanded all the money in the cash box. A weapon was seen by the attendant but never pointed. The man was given the money, returned to the vehicle and drove off very quickly, said Anaheim police Sgt. Rick Martinez.
On Sept. 19, a man in a light-colored vehicle, possibly a Toyota Camry, drove up to a different toll booth at about 2:30 p.m. The man got out of the car, asked for the money, flashed a gun, received the money and drove off, Martinez said.
Officials say the investigation is continuing; no arrests have been made.

Re: Crime in the Magic Kingdom
No look, the real crime will be Oct 24th, 2006.
Sure, Nightmare Before Christmas is released on Oct 20th 2006 in 3-D (Can't wait).
But on Oct 24th, the biggest crime since Cinderellabration will happen. There is a special edition, 2-Disk Soundtrack for the movie. The first disk will be the original soundtrack. . .the second, well, I'll let this speak for itself. . .
1. This Is Halloween - Marilyn Manson
2. Sally's Song - Fiona Apple
3. What's This? - Fall Out Boy
4. Kidnap The Sandy Claws - She Wants Revenge
5. This Is Halloween - Panic! At The Disco
6. Making Christmas - Danny Elfman
7. Oogie Boogie's Song - Danny Elfman
8. This Is Halloween - Danny Elfman
9. Kidnap The Sandy Claws - Danny Elfman
If played on a computer, there is a hidden track from Wierd Al titled "What's This" its a parody asking why the hell Disney would allow a CD like this to be made. . .Boy, if Nightmare wasn't branded goth all ready (even though its not). . .

I remember that - I was working there at the time, and it turned out to be a set up. The Security Cast Member shot himself. He had been lobbying management for vests and heavier weaponry, and had been repeatedly told there was no reason for Security officers to be seriously armed, so he set up the incident in the parking lot. It all fell apart and he admitted what he did after a couple of weeks.darph nader wrote:Years ago I read in the paper, some yoyo was trying to steal a car from the parking lot. As far as real crime, I can remember women being busted for soliciting on property, most famously, one woman who was taking paying customers in the caves on Tom Sawyer's Island (this was back in the mid 80's). There was another gal that got busted for drug dealing in Bear Country, and she was stupid enough to have her kids with her. I remember one of the undercover officers telling me that the Anaheim P.D. had to wait until one of her family members came to take the kids home before they could take her to jail. I have all sorts of memories of shoplifters from my time in merchandise, and the Hotel was shoplifting hell because of those gawd-awful apartments behind the property, known as Felony Flats back in the day. There was one guy in particular that everyone used to call "Joey" or "Spiderman" (he had a spider web tattooed on one hand) who was always stealing large bunches of merchandise from the hotel stores. He was brazen enough to walk into the stockrooms and just take boxes. He'd get busted, be in jail for a few months, be out and be stealing again the same day.
And of course all the car thefts from the old parking lot that management didn't want people hearing about. That includes CM's cars being stolen. I remember seeing a guy in someone's old VW bug trunk, and thinking it was the CM working on something, and then hearing the next day that the bug was stolen. I felt guilty for weeks. One night someone went into the employee lot and smashed tail lights and windows with a hammer. That was not cool. I had some stuff stolen out of my car in the employee lot as well. So yes, there's all sorts of crime, including the infamous murder on Mormon night, at Disneyland.

Damn Porche owners! I bet all the loot went towards gas.pixiedust wrote:A parking toll-booth attendant was robbed Tuesday, the second armed robbery at a Disneyland lot in the past two weeks, authorities said.

A guy is driving down the street when all of a sudden a door on a parked car flies open barely ten feet in front of him. With so little warning he hits the door tearing it off the car.
He slams to a stop and runs back. He sees the door laying in the street and says to the driver, "I'm really sorry about tearing your door off."
The now in shock driver of the parked car starts to wail, "My Porsche, my Porsche!!"
The driver of the first car suddenly realizes that the guys arm is also lying in the street. "Oh my God, I tore off your arm." he cries.
The Porsche driver looks at the bloody stump and starts to wail, "My Rolex, my Rolex!!"

Don't be fooled by appearances. In Hawaii, some of the most powerful people look like bums and stuntmen.

There was a band of pin traders whom I have talked about before. I aint a machinist like my father but I can tell when peg holding the pins are suddenly a few millimeters more visible. You also had to watch your stuff and I and others had pins and stuff stolen. They would get wait for you to get real busy then you phase out and later look to see something is gone. Did you trade it away or drop it?
Google and you will see Disney has had its crime. The worst was a Grifter who was beaten and well never mind. She said it happened at a Disneyland hotel and Disney almost paid her a large sum of money.
I know there have been gang problems there and articles about shoplifting. Do not leave stuff laying around as you can find stuff accidently lost. If you want I can google up lots of Disneyland Crime dirt.

WTF?? I read about this a few days ago. It makes me shudder. I read an article where the guys from Panic said they loved NBC when they were kids and couldn't wait to be part of it. Huh? YOU ARE STILL KIDS! Grr, leave my NBC alone... bastards. How dare you mess with the genius of Danny Elfman. What's next, My Chemical Romance doing Oingo Boingo covers? GAH!!!! Damn Emo is taking over and I don't have enough bullets or earplugs to stifle it. I'll be in my cave if you need me....IndyandMarion wrote:1. This Is Halloween - Marilyn Manson
