[Disneyland] 1/2 marathon prep?
1/2 marathon prep?
With the inagural DL 1/2 marathon weekend coming up in a few days, I was wondering what kind of prep the resort has had people doing to get ready. I remember from multiple races at the WDW marathon that things tend to get pretty hectic - are the parks expected to get pretty packed this weekend?

Polar33, THANK YOU so much for all this info! You are one of a kind :D: Am closing so all is good. :) Asked Anthony & Mata from K Lot shuttles abt adding more shuttles this weekend. Neither has heard anything abt more, but Anthony did say if there is a special event @ DL this weekend he'd sure tell CMs to arrive 45 minutes or so before their shift begins. If a CM is at CC, NOS, or has to hoof it to the Pier/Golden State for an opening shift I'd probably arrive abt an hr. early. This race time & course makes me realize how fortunate I am to be a closer on M S. ;)

HA! Bet this is DLR CMs intro to "Year of A Million Problems".Polar33 wrote:Hmm...that brings up annother question...with Disneyland Drive closed off, how are CMs parking in the Paridise Pier Lot supposed to get across the street to the CM gate?
Yep, I predict that this event will cause headaches for everyone in the resort area this weekend.

I know how you feel. We were there last weekend and there were 'small' signs out at Harbor and Disney Dr. Very vagueLittleDollClaudia wrote:ACKKKK!!! HA! Even at the World they don't have enough room - I remember running past the 3 mile marker a few years ago outside of Epcot and seeing people still fighting to get to the start line through all the backed up traffic. I guess they're hoping the saving grace this weekend will be the 6AM start time, but no matter what it sounds like Anaheim will be chaos on sunday. Still, should be a fun race - wish me luck! :D:Polar33 wrote: Whatever idiot decided that "It works so well for WDW, why not try it at DL". really needs to be handling complaints this weekend. WDW has more than enough space to pull this madness off...Anaheim, not so much.

WTF?? No complaints about the farce that was the 1/2 marathon? I'm sure "some" of you were crunched for time on Sunday. Dish, dish!! I know our place had many pissed off guests. I am guessing Anaheim, Disneyland and APD will be getting several letters soon.

Absolutely NO RESPONSIBILITY taken. Heard all was a real a.m. mess & many CMs were late. Heart fell when I read your horror story. & you were so prepared for the drive up to DL. Damn, this angers me cuz you are a great guy & work so damn hard. Next yr. get that ADO in!
