She was *so* drunk....
"She was *so* drunk, she couldn't walk thru an open door!" or so goes the joke.
Yesterday, she visited our hotel in person.
She would stagger up to the doors, and reach out to pull the handle. The doors, being automatic, sensed her presence and opened before she got there. Each time, she let out a little scream and ran away.
From inside, it was sort of fun watching her try to outwit the photosensor (especially as she was a half-wit and was half-soaked). She tried sneaking around the wall, she tried running up quickly, she tried crawling on the ground, she tried sweet talking it, she tried trash-talking it (do doors even *have* mothers?), but every time she got close, the doors slammed open and off she ran again.
We finally got tired of guests telling us that somebody was drunk and called in security. Do you know how hard it is to put a drunk back to bed -- her bed -- when she hasn't got a room key, hasn't got a clue what hotel she's in (much less her room number), can't remember where she lost her purse, gives four different last names, and screams and runs away when the elevator doors open just like the entry doors?
Let's just say it took two hours to get her out of the lobby.
Could have been worse, she was a happy drunk, and didn't barf until she got into her own room.
I just hope she was staying alone.

Ah Zazu..I feel your pain..I had one last week. A drunken homeless guy sleeping on my second floor by the elevator. Got very irate when I asked him to leave. Called me a motherf**ker at one point. ( Is that a standard for drunken fools? ) Thank the Gods for Anaheim police!! I don't get paid enough to mess around with your stupid ass.

More like she was fully soaked. You know when the guests complained about the drunk lady, I would have said "Yea Funny ain't she?"
"A little swordplay, now and then, keeps my mind off sheep!"
"You're messing with my Zen thing, man."
"Dreams are as portals,
flat visions of misty places,
fragments bound below my surface,
but I can write dreams,
they flow from me,
inscribed but now unbound,
I touch them,
and they are real,
and they are real."

You should not have let it go on so long. People pay lots of money to have a nice establishment to stay at and drunk broads is not part of the "Disney Experience" people want for their families.
Two years ago I was at a 4 star hotel for a convention. At this convention was a guy who ran a sweepstakes site and he was soaked and blotto drunk. He wanted me to divulge another sweepstakes site's information. I got so frustrated that I told him I would go in the bar with him if he crawled on his hands and knees out the door. crawling back in he met security and things got to the point you could feel that the guy was going to jail so I drug him to the bar where upon he stepped on my foot and the foot wrenched so that my achilles tendon is messed up.
Drunks are funny until they hurt themselves, others or get so obnoxious that they hurt customer relations. Yes it was funny but to what point and what if there was drugs in her system? I would not want to spend thousands of dollars to stay at a hotel only to see a drunk woman running around the front door. DLR would have had her bounced off property or cops coming if that happened.
Didn't your momma tell you not to be mean to dumb animals?

Although it probably wouldn't happen on a Disney property I just can't forget the comatose, naked drunk that greeted one of Fort Worth's major movers and shakers and his two administrative assistants in the Hyatt hotel elevator. The drunk was one of our conventioneers and he was on a plane home within two hours. Probably the fastest I've ever seen IBM move.

Don't be fooled by appearances. In Hawaii, some of the most powerful people look like bums and stuntmen.

Re: She was *so* drunk....
The problem is that we cannot control our guests. Even though sometimes I wish I could. It may be disturbing but I have to treat someone like that with kid gloves because they are paying guests, regardless of acting like idiots. What sucks about being in a guest service job is that fact, plain and simple. You have to make each guest feel welcome or they won't come back. Now I know some will say that more folks will come to fill that space. Which is true but it's never a good feeling to know that my handing of a situation may lose hotel revenue and reputation later on. But that is my responsibility that I totally take on myself. In that same token, I would never allow a guest to try to handle that type of person. That is what staff members like me are for. Please inform me of what's going on and let me kick their ass so you can enjoy the rest of your vacation. The sad truth is if you get involved, my hotel is not willing to pay for your hospital bill when the fool punches you in the throat in a drunken rage. We do the best that we can, under the circumstances. When stupidity and alcohol go hand in hand, it's a dangerous combination.

Re: She was *so* drunk....
See: there's the fun bit! If you get the right job, they will foot the bill for your hospital stay. My bartender is alone tonight, so I *get* to help bounce and clean up. Pretty roudy in there and it's about to be last call. I have the suspicion that I'm going to have to break up some kind of fight tonight... The local cops told me to put someones head thru a door for them (they think the full moon is bringing out the crazies). They know they're on my hotel's speed-dial, but we always get first dibs on situations on our property-the cops just come out to clean up the mess. But the best part is that if I somehow get my a$$ whooped, the hotel is supposed to take care of it because it's part of my job... Never had to test that though-if they're busy punching someone else, which is when I usually step in, then they'll never see me coming from behind. :twisted:LittleDollClaudia wrote:my hotel is not willing to pay for your hospital bill when the fool punches you in the throat in a drunken rage. On behalf of the "GUEST" population of the world, I would like to apologize to all Cast Member's that have encountered a rude guest. We are working hard to weed out the ungrateful and replace them with buttons that don't work.

Re: She was *so* drunk....
I was at BWV coming back from MNSSHP a few weeks ago when I saw what looked like a blanket in the hall. Upon further inspection it was a passed out guest, looked to be in his early 20's. What surprised me, although not so much now after reading these boards, is that it took 2 calls to security and at least 30 minutes to get anyone to come up to check on him. I would have thought that 1. There might be some concern that the guest was ill not drunk AND/OR
2. They'd want him out of there ASAP to avoid other guests seeing such "undisneylike" behavior.
