people looking for ways to break the rules
This is my first post. I want to thank all the CM who have made my trips to WDW so much fun.
I look over a lot of different websites to find information for planning our trips. What really makes me furious is people who ask how they can get around rules at the parks. They ask about lying about kids ages to get the child rate on passes. They look for ways to pool hop at resorts other than their own. They ask if they can use expired fast passes. They ask if its alright to use the mugs from other trips or a different resort. The list is endless. Sometimes I would just like to smack them on the side of the head to see if they have a brain. Sorry about being on a soapbox, I will get off it now.

:) :) Kathy you did a fine job on your first post. I have spent lots of time lurking and reading old posts. The soap box is beat up and used a lot here it seems. :) :)
As a guest I have heard many things like you said. People go to a public place that is know for its security system and then blatantly ask employees to violate local, state, federal laws or violate rules set forth by their employer.
We do not ask people at the Baskin Robins ice cream store to let us have free ice cream and eat from the container. So why do people ask CMs to break the rules? I am from the west coast so am used to abnormal behavior. I have been in line and wanted to slap someone who demands the CM break the rules like let a 3-year-old on the Matterhorn.
Returns soap box, lol. Have fun reading the old posts as you will see how much that soap box has been used rightfully.

Re: people looking for ways to break the rules
You need to understand one thing, the rules DO NOT apply to THEM. Ergo they are NOT breaking any rules. How much simpler could it be?

Re: people looking for ways to break the rules
You'd think that feeling the need to ask if something is alright would be a big clue to these more-ooons that it is probably NOT. Instead of Pal Mickey, maybe y'all should come up with a mandatory Pal Jiminy Cricket to offer moral guidance for the morally-challenged idiots in the parks.
"If you are a dee, please don't marry a dee, 'cause then your kids will be dee dee dee." ....Carlos Mencia
"It's the difference between champagne and carbonated pee!" ....Homer Simpson

Nice work, pal
Re: people looking for ways to break the rules
OK a hypothetical question.
Mr and Mrs Idiot are trying to save a few bucks and sneak 12 year old Junior Idiot in on a child pass. Junior Idiot sees fit to throw himself to the floor or some other minor incident and has a trip to first aid as a result. Mr and Mrs Idiot decide that Disney has been negligent and want to sue their asses off. What would be the legal position in the case of Disney vs Idiots once Disney find out that Junior Idiot had incorrect ticket media?

Re: people looking for ways to break the rules
Disney lawyer probably would first try to prove that it was not their fault and the incident was not caused by them. Just because they broke the rules and defrauded Disney does not release Disney from being liable any more than with criminals who crawl over a fence, for example.
I am not a disney lawyer as you can see lol. I should have sued but never did and can say Disney law dogs keep lawsuits to a minimum.

At least they are asking. Nothing like comming back from a break with just enough time to spare to get to CDS and have to deal with guest who are wandering back stage "looking for bathrooms."Syndrome wrote:You'd think that feeling the need to ask if something is alright would be a big clue to these more-ooons that it is probably NOT. I do however like (no more like lover) the idea of the my Pal Jiminy Cricket.
I can hear it now... (Aproaching Fountain) Remember Parrents in the State of Flordia Stripping you kids nude in public so their clothes do not get wet when they play in the fountain is Child Neglet. (Aproaching Innoventions, Space Base, any small child oriented attraction) Just a helpful reminder letting you kids play unattended, and cast members do not count for supervision, while you shop or ride an attraction is Child Abandoment. If you do this just hope the Cast Member calls his or her manager instead of the Shierf. (Walking to the Gate) Welcome to (Insert Park Here) (Jiminey singing) "remember to always let your conscience guide" and if you can't do that read the rules!

I love the Jiminy idea too, but one problem. Those of us who actually pay attention to those who don't. It's like people who want stricter gun laws. A lawbreaker will just work harder to find ways to get around them. I could swear I had this exact convo with Polar a little while ago. Only people who follow rules anyway will abide by them, unfortunately. That's my soapbox moment.
<~~See? I brought my own. Anyone else want to use it?

Re: people looking for ways to break the rules
I got bounced from DL because of stalking by a group of pin traders who stole, cheated, connived and harrassed people. I would watch as they would walk around pin racks an there was two inches of pins and later there was not quite two inches, hmm where did them pins go to. They would go in bathrooms to sell pins or ride dark rides. They made friends with CMs just to get the discounts and CM special goodies.
Us good pin traders were followed and watched while the bad people found so many ways to steal and scam it is not funny.
I think the Jimney Cricket would not work because the pin traders who stalked and harrassed me would tear it about and rewire it to say "Selling pins is ok in parks" "Always trade to unsuspecting traders your $2 pin for their $50 pin" "you may have more than one item even if the rules say otherwise".
If people will not listen to a cast member are they going to listen to a green bug?

Re: people looking for ways to break the rules
Well, that's just it. Does anyone really think that people who use guns to committ crimes are going into a gun store, showing their ID, and legally buying weapons? If they are, they are the same people who think that the NRA is the work of "the devil," and that everyone who is going into a gun store, showing their ID, and legally buying a weapon, is going down the street to the bank to rob it.LittleDollClaudia wrote:I love the Jiminy idea too, but one problem.
