just careless

Post by Jedi » Sat Jul 22, 2006 4:32 am

I can't stand when a guest breaks something & decides to put it back on the shelf. It bothers me more when it is made of glass or is just plain sharp and they leave it on the floor or a very low shelf. Do they not realize that there are small children in the stores. I find broken ceramic mugs, frames with broken glass and broken snow globes frequently. It is really a shame that the guests don't have the decency to just let us know they broke it. We aren't going to charge them for the item. I guess they would rather have a child injured then 'fess up like a responsible adult.

Is this Tomorrowland? No! We sell Star Wars toys because we are in Adventureland!!

I used to love to make customers sweat if they broke something expensive. Before I worked at Disneyland, I worked for the old Bullock's department store in the Decorative Accessories department (Harrison Ford's old department ;) ). Anyway, we were selling a collection of Chinese antiques, and this stupid woman let her kid push his own stroller, and of course he drove the stroller directly into a 30" tall vase we had displayed on the floor with some other large objects. I went over with the broom and pan and one of my co-workers pulled out the markdown book. I found the shard with the price on it and very loudly called out "$5,000.00" across the sales floor. The blood drained out of the woman's face. I finally looked at her and said, "oh don't worry. We won't make you pay for it. We are going to have to mark it out of stock." A few minutes later I saw her spanking the hell out of the kid, but it was really HER fault for letting him push his own stroller in the first place.

Apparently the parents at Disney are careless. They seemed they don't care about what they do. It seemed they leave their trash behind when there are trashcans just a couple of feet away from them. What do they do?? They leave their empty drink cups on the railings, in the queues, or in the ride vehicles.

Earlier this evening, I caught a guest smoking in the Carnation Plaza Gardens. I told him the nearest smoking section was near Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. What did he do?? He estinguishes it and puts it in his water bottle. Does he put it in the trash!?!?!?!?! NOOOOOOOOOOO!! He leaves it behind and just leaves!! He doesn't bother trowing it away!!

Why do guess thinkk they can treat Disneyland like the way they treat their house??

This is one on my top 5 most hated. Really doubt these filthy pig guests trash their homes as they trash our DL. Everytime I walk to & from break, lunch or whatever I bend down at least 2xs to pick up the above you mentioned & more. Frustrates the heck out of me yet I want to see On Stage clean. A NOS manager saw me do this a few months ago & said]

"You work here? You must be SO rich!"

I doubt these 'guests' treat their own homes this way.Their mentality is "hey i paid for it,let someone else clean it up". Years ago i worked in a dept.store & resturant business, dutys included cleaning the restrooms.Sorry gals, but the 'ladies' restrooms were always trashed. TP,diapers and feminine hygiene'stuff',all over the floor, counter tops, you name it.

They paid an "admissions" ticket just to get into the park, not a "i can do whatever I want just because I paid $XXXX.XX to get here" ticket!! They still have to obey our rules!!

"But you can't tell me what to do! Your job is to just stand there and be cosmetic and SMILE"

"Where did I park? You work here and you don't know where I parked?!"
"Nope, sorry. I forgot to memorize all 15,000 cars' spots as they drove in today." :p:

You just HAD to set me off on one of my anti-Knott's rants, didn't you? ;) When I was at Knott's, there would be times when I would be opening a ride, and I would make sure there were plenty of strategically placed trashcans near where guests could access them. But sooner or later, whenever a certain manager came by, my trashcans would disappear--evidently this peabrained manager thought we didn't need so many trash cans (this was especially true at Flying Ace Balloon Race in Camp Snoopy). And if there was n't any cleaning stuff, I'd raise hell until I got it. And let me tell you, cleaning materials got harder and harder to get the closer I got to my last day. The last 6 months or so, getting sweeping compound for the Calico Railroad was next to impossible. And with kids throwing up (and missing or not making it to the trashcan) or peeing in queue or the bullpen--and sometimes on the train itself--we needed it alot. But on that I had to give the guests credit--they at least had the decency to tell us when that happened. Too bad they didn't have the same courtesy when it came to leaving trash and dirty diapers on the train.

I remembered a time when a female guest had her period on the tram and left a big blood stain on one of the seats. There was an entire female staff she could have told (except for me).

I've heard of "heavy days," but when was the last time she changed ?
