Mickey's Retreat from what?

Post by WLStephanie » Thu Jul 13, 2006 3:35 pm

I'm sorry guys, I need to vent a little.

Hubby and I took the kids over to Mickey's retreat today because Typhoon has just been too crowded to take the kid's to lately (we have season passes). Imagine my surprise to discover that whole summer camp groups are being allowed to use Mickey's retreat for field trips. There were fifty 7-10 year olds in the pool with 3 chaperones (plus the normal lifeguards, of course) to watch them (and I'm supposed to stay within 3 feet of my kids in the pool... ha ha ha). The noise was deafening and they were jumping in off the sides everywhere, making it rather unsafe for my two smaller kids. Minnie's pool has a broken pump, so only one pool is open. It got even better when the started lifeguard training in half of the pool, shoving all of the chaos to one side. Now don't get me wrong, I understand the lifeguard training. And they are usually not even noticable when the big groups of kids aren't there. I even understand allowing the field trips. But perhaps they should restrict those items to when both pools are available so that those of us who are cast, trying to get away from the hoards of unsupervised kids at the parks, can actually relax a bit with our families and not be smashed into half a pool with 50 little kids and the pool's normal daily users? urrrr.
Ok. Rant over. I feel a little better.
