:shock: I use to work splash and one day we had a lady vomit into the flume after the drop 5, the big one, and the next log that came through, the guest put their hands in the water and splashed it on their faces. It was great. I dont think i have laughed that hard since that day!

oh jeeze, I saw worse one afternoon in Pirates. You know the men's room next to the New Orleans train station? The pipes burst in there one summer afternoon and the water was all flooding down in a waterfall to the utility 3 area just before the lift. The lead had us stop the boats while the plumbers were trying to stop the gusher but it wasn't doing any good. I kept shouting in the P.A. for the guests to keep their hands inside the boat (I didn't want to announce to the whole world why) but then I realized that they were non-English speaking Asians...one of the guys even took his hanky out of his jacket, wrung it out in the gusher and wiped his face with it! Those of us in the control tower were gagging at the sight. I've often wondered if he had flies following him for the rest of the afternoon...

Yum, well, at least I now know not to put my hand in the water!

I used to just let my hand fall into the water and just like, sit there. Now I'm gonna sit like as far away from any water rides that I can. Things I get is that damn Canoe ride. I always seem to get people that don't know how to paddle. Always ended up all over me. :x

I guess we cm's just knew better, especially in attractions. If you're ever on the verge of an evac and boats are being held for whatever reason, you get to observe all kinds of things. It's usually little kids (boys for the most part) peeing into the water on mommy's orders, because they just can't hold it anymore. Sometimes the good ol' vomit. However, that was usually cm's. There was a canoe team in the early 80's that was notorious for drinking all night in the parking lot of the old movie theater across Harbor from the cm entrance then coming in drunk/hungover for canoe practice. They would generally all ralph in the water before their start time. I wear contact lenses, but I would wear my glasses for canoe racing season because I didn't want to ruin any lenses with that disgusting water...learned my lesson after one faceful from a rookie paddling infront of me... :|

Ha ha! That's so true. I did canoe races this year and after our first practice I had to ask the question, "Is it bad that my arm itches after getting it wet from paddling?"

Don't they bleach the water to death at Disney? I always assumed the water was chemically toxic, not biologically active ;-) Oh, and frankly I'd rather have the chemicals.

POTC and SM usually have a very strong clorine smell so they do put plenty of chemicals in the water. I heard years back that if a CM ends up in ROA that they must get a tetenas shot automatically, urban legand I figure since the canoes people get wet.

I worked Friendship boats at Epcot and currently im at Jungle Cruise, and at both, if your head goes underwater you are required to get the shots and be examined by a medical staff. Epcot cause of the fireworks and JC cause, well you've seen the water
