Transfering to Mount Everest!

Post by VICisGOOFY » Tue Sep 06, 2005 8:00 pm

I am about to approach my first year anniversary with WDW and TWDC. The thing is, that Strollers is not a place I want to be. So I am aspiring to transfer to the new attraction "Expedition Everest". Is there a waiting list that I can add my name too, or will WDW advertise once they need people to work the ride?

I'd call Casting and see what they say. Otherwise, maybe something will be mentioned in Eyes and Ears? I've never seen them do so for an attraction, only when a resort or something a bit larger has opened up...but you never know! :D:

Good luck!

I've seen such notices posted for quite a few attractions. You may have to search to find one of the "lucky" bulletin boards though, as only one in my area tends to get such notices.

I haven't seen such a notice for Expedition Everest yet, but I'll keep my eyes open  and post here if I do.

I've heard that Everest won't be posting until late November, but not 100% sure on this.

At Disneyland they post for Test and Adjust first. For test and adjust you have to have 6 months attractions experience and be a lead or trainer on an attraction. For opening crew I know that they interview people, I don't remember what the qualifications are beyond that other then a good record. (Disneyland just opened Buzz and Space so we had flyers everywhere, currently they just finished calling for Test and Adjust for Monsters Inc.)

I had a feeling I was not the only one that felt that way about strollers.

I worked at Strollers/Package Express for over 3 years. In retrospect, I have no idea how I lasted that long over there. I didn't mind the work I did, my problem was knowing the hypocrisy that went on with that area's operation, plus the apathy of the CMs and the "entitlement Ernie" attitude of the guests. It finally all came to a boil and I did the only thing I thought I could do: quit. Boy, did I regret that. If I knew I could transfer to my current department and enjoy it as much as I do, I would have.

Moral of the story: More power to you Victor and good luck on transferring.

BTW the "GB" in my username stands for "Gate Bitch" which is what Stroller Repair people affectionately call themselves. I was once one of them.

Sorry it took long, but better late than never. Thanks for the motivating words.
