WOW!
If anyone needs any info about dining at Disneyland, Mechurchlady knows waaay more than she should :D:

The Golden Horseshoe/Stagedoor Cafe no longer do burgers as of two days ago. I did not know about the Taste Pilots Grill having burgers, and according to the map in the Blue Sky Cellar, the place currently occupied by Pizza Oom Mow Mow (What on Earth is an Oom Mow Mow anyway? :confused :) and Burger invasion will house a glass, greenhouse building. What purpose it will serve is beyond me.

Turkeyham (Great name)- Those ducks are crazy. They were swarming the restaraunt when I went by on the Mark Twain the other day. Seeing the ducks eat turkey legs must be a throughly disturbing sight, kind of like the infamous "Daisy's Scrambled Eggs" at Goofy's kitchen... :april:

DCA was built around the culture of California. There was the winery, the Hollywood area, the Desert Flats with Taste Pilot and Soariing, Grizzly Rapids area like the redwoods, the Wharf, the bugs area was about the farm culture like San Andreas Shakes which take after the Indio date shakes, San Francisco area with Whoopie Goldberg show, and the boardwalk. The boardwalk was about the corn dog shack, Beach Boy type of music, McDonalds was a UFO just like the Dinosaur building shaped shop that was part of American themed buildings, and the Opop Mow Mow was a pizza shack that was themed after beach type places.

That is the song.

I was born after Disneyland opened and attended on my third birthday in 1960 from what I have been told. At one time as a pin trader I went almost every day to the parks and have been there about 200 to 400 times.

I never went to the Seasons of the Vine Theater at DCA. Not into wine and it was never open or I was busy eating and having fun. Face the restaurant and on your right is a tiny little theater building that looks like a Spanish style gardening shed. The Blue Sky Cellar basically is a preview center to sell people on new stuff coming out over the 5 year make over.

They moved to the following spot.

Pictures of the outside of the Blue Sky Cellar.

Changes
They will pull out the entrance way to make room for the trolley and other stuff. The front area will be themed after 1920's Los Angeles. The monorail bridge will be changed to look like the bridges that cross the Los Angeles River. A trolley like the Red Cars will travel a loop and thus open up the park and end the dead end at Tower of Terror.

Hollywoodland will be rethemed and already Award Weiners was expanded and Gone Hollywood shop will be expanded. Paradise Pier is being redone big time. The boardwalk games will be themed after 4 disney movies, Sun Wheel will be changed to have a Mickey on it and renamed maybe, the two restaurants are gone and Toy Story Mania was added, the show with Whoopi Goldberg will be demolished and a new Ariel dark ride added, Mulholland Madness will be themed after Goofy, the Rustworthy ship and play area will be remove, and the swings will have a bandleader Mickey on top and be themed with a tornado in the middle. Mc Donald's is history and they are out of Harbour Gallery, Conestoga fries which was removed totally, and Burger Invasion.

Breathes

San Francisco will be the same but the bathrooms will be moved across the pathway and a DVC wing is being added to the Grand Californian on the south side. They are replacing the arena on the north side of the lake for a 9000 seat area to watch the lake shows. The Jumpin Jelly Fish will also be removed and apparently that whole area in front of the Oom Mow Mow and Burger Invasion will be a beer garden.

WHAT GARDEN?
The Oom Mow Mow and Burger Invasion will be gutted and turned in to a beer garden. Where is the Corona tree when you need it, lol?

Cocina Cucamonga will move to the Lucky Fortune restaurant and expand while an Asian themed counter service will replace Cocina Cucamonga.

That is a model of the entrance area. The guest walk under the monorail and the big building is the new Cathay theater which is up in the air as to what they will do with that. The Red Car Trolleys is on delay and rumour is that it is a safety issue which may end up with cars like at Main Street that guests would ride in as in the fire engine for example.

:dropmouth You write so very, very much. I never got to see Seasons of the Vine, and for the same reason as you. No urge to see wine, I'd rather go on Superstar Limmo again! (Yes, I liked Superstar Limmo. I'm the only one on the planet, but I liked it.) A beer garden? I'm disappointed. Could Disney not have done something more thematically engaging, llike a ride or show, or perhaps a restaraunt for the whole family? DCA is not particularly family oriented as it is. :(

The only sit down restaurant in the park is Ariel's on the Boardwalk. Even DL is short of sit down restaurants let alone table service. They tore out the restaurants on the south side of boardwalk and have an ice cream stand and Ariel's and the corn dog shack. They have the wharf and winery but really there needs to be a nice place to get a meal and have dinner and rest.

DCA is know as a hit and run park as there is so little to do there especially with them ripping out 4 restaurants, they closed long ago studio 17 warehouse that was like the Innoventions area Electric Umbrella, and the Soap Opera diner. They have a few fair type carny games and some rides but really not as much as DL and can be seen in one day. Zephyr is a swing ride that goes in a circle, yawn and there are two coasters yawn, and a raft ride and Soarin and Tower of Terror but what else is there to do that is not a kiddie ride. Maliboom is ok if you like freefall, yawn.

There are options there like a Plaza Inn type of restaurant or a small dark ride like Buzz Light year or even an indoor coaster. The main problem is that the building is southeast of the new DVC wing of Grand California. I would like to see an alternate entrance there for hotel guests as it is a long hike the other way.

A lot of this is up in the air as there is the financial instability right now globally and how much new business will they get from spending a billion dollars on a messed up park. They should have built the parking garage where Bug's life is located so as to save the use of trams. Then take the western part of DCA and turn it into new Disneyland areas and charge more for the new mega Disneyland. I would have connected the Monorail to the hotel and added a stop in the new section maybe. DCA is a sad park but it has its gems.

Remember google is your friend.

The Golden Horse shoe to my knowledge has not served burgers. The other one did about 4 years ago. The menus changed because the park wanted to make more healthy choices. :)
