Leave it to the Brazilians to give me something to write about for my first post. Lucky for me I have been able to avoid them and the cheerleaders for the most part during the trips I have made. The only stupid thing I witnessed was several years ago at Maelstrom when one or two of the little monsters decided that they had to be on the same boat as their friends. I was too far away to see what really happened but I did hear the splash. The CM standing next to us just shook his head and said 'Damn Brazilians'.
Funny thing is I spent seven weeks in Brazil one summer as an exchange student back in the 80's. Never had a problem. Everyone I met was very polite. Maybe back then things were different. Or the part of Brazil I was in doesn't raise annoying spoiled rich brats but does grow useful things such as peanuts, sugar cane and coffee.

The Brazilian/Hispanic tour groups at Typhoon Lagoon were worse than I have even encountered. The creek was crowded and here the lovely people were piling tubes on top of each other, using one tube for their heads and one for the feet, then one group was throwing them. I had my 3 year old grandson with me and rather than take a chance at him getting hurt we left the park by noon. We go to a water park every Sunday during the summer but I think I will sit out next weekend. :(

NessaMcTastic wrote:I can't say I've encountered any Brazillian tour groups in my few trips to WDW but my college rented out space to a business called English First (EF). EF's a program for foreigners to come to NY to learn English for either a semester or a full school year. Most of the kids were very polite and respectful. Most of the Brazilian men on the other hand, had no respect for women. Keep in mind, they were at a women's college so the ratio of women to men is VERY high.

The Brazilian men would like to push us out of the line at the cafeteria and when one of us would speak up they would laugh and pat us on the head. I flipped out when one of them did cursing in Spanish and pulled back to swing. (I do mixed martial arts so I felt comfortable in taking him on) I was so pissed that the Dean of MY college told me that I needed to really understand that these pigs (they were acting like pigs) are unfamiliar to our ways. I told him that I should feel safe knowing that no man can put his hands on me with out my consent.

Then they had a contest with the Italian students to see who could pull the fire alarm the most times in one night. No one got any sleep, my college was severely fined, and those students were NOT deported.

Fordham ended up selling my college to...the EF program! I shudder to think about how they're ruining the wonderful 19th century architecture of the buildings there.

If I'd been there, any of those fools would've gotten their hand bitten or shredded if they touched me, I would've learned to swear fluently in their language while shoving them to the end of the line, and if some wussy Dean told me we needed to understand that these idiots (don't call them pigs; pigs are smart, those fools weren't) don't know our culture, I'd tell him/her that I was giving them an immersion course that you respect women, and don't push in front of others. And if anybody set off the fire alarms, I'd be on the phone to the cops and Immigration and make sure they got their asses booted out. As they say, ignorance of the law is no excuse, and when in Rome, do as the Romans do. You go to another country, it's your responsibility to learn the culture and behave yourself. Those idiots that were pulling that stuff didn't deserve to be in the U.S. for any reason.

Hi Widget! Welcome to SGT. I used to have a cat named Widget and now I have a horse named Gidget. Which has nothing to do with SGT, but I do like the sound of your name. :D:

We had a dog with a nervous tic. We named him Fidget.

There's a bridge-building simulation program from Auran called Bridge-it.

Oh, wait, this isn't the ADD thread. :o:

Widget is the name of my green-cheeked conure. She is a small green parrot from South America. I've had her for almost twenty years. Now that I think about it she would be a great punishment for any annoying SG. She may be small but when she is irritated she can bite and bite hard. Be a SG and your penalty will be to stick your hand in Widget's cage and leave it there until she is done with it. :D:

But only as long as it doesn't cause her some indigestion.
