Regarding Ridemax, I was talking to Elena today and she wants to have us join her. She has a GAC with the max (6) on it to take people into the parks with her. Of course we have to do In 'N Out, and as far as both Main Streets, maybe we could get a manager or coordinator to help. I can think of ways it could work...

Here is our flight plan:

The closest I get to In 'N Out Burgers is tourists t-shirts. :(

I have put our itinerary into the SGT calendar. Now, let's figure out what we should do while there.

Well, there are so many things to do vis-a-vis planning.

We can arrange to meet you all in Anaheim (or take the morning train down to San Diego and meet you at the airport).

How would y'all feel about going to KBF (I'm sure you've had more than your fill of Sea World and Universal) while you're here, if only to meet the SGTers over there.

And I'm sure you'll want to go to Company D and pick up your DLR Cast Souvenirs, lol.

And, with regards to Food, while I agree that no visit to California is complete without a trip to In-n-Out, there's so many more good eats you're missing out on if you limit yourself to just that one. Original Tommy's Burger, anyone??

Ah, so much to plan, so little time (relatively, of course, lol).

All of that sounds important to me. As far as the train, anyone who wants to meet us at SAN would be more than welcome, and we'd love to have you join us. By the time we get to Anaheim I think it could be an invasion. Rail fare looks to be $40 round trip.

Whazzup just PM'd me with a very generous offer, to use DVC points at cost at Paradise Pier. We're going to look into that and how it compares to our current ideas.

I figure we have to go to your Company D and see what you have there, and I would be interested in seeing KBF, as I've never been there before. I'd like to see your Universal, as I remember it being bigger than ours... but I could be wrong.

Other ideas as to things we need to do?

Let's get a nice get-together meal planned so that people who need to can get time off for that.

All I want is a hug and to meet the infamous Wallaby. Right now finances are tight but next year after May things might be better but I am playing catch up right now. I would love to go and visit the Wallaby at Universal and KBF as it has been 10 years probably since I been there. I need to get an ECV, knees are shot. I finally realized I am not a weebil, lol.

I WANT A WALLABY HUG.

Please understand I'm not trying to rain on your parade, but Knott's is hardly worth going to. If Dazeyhill and Freak were to stop by here, they could confirm that the place is nothing like it was when the Knott family owned it. Avoid Ghostrider at all costs--even coaster enthusiasts have complained how bad it's gotten. About the only things worth going on are the train and the stagecoaches. Log Ride is literally falling to pieces--they've had several incidents where plaster, etc. has fallen on guests as well as ROs. When I was there, maintenence was scattershot--I would seriously consider having extra insurance before going on anything, because we used to have rides go down alot. What if one falls apart in mid-cycle?
Management doesn't care about keeping anything in good condition--when I worked there, we were denied cleaning compound, brooms, pick-ups, and dustpans. How they expected us to keep our ride areas clean without proper cleaning supplies is beyond me.
Plus, there are so many gangbangers going there, a good day at Knott's is like a bad day at Disneyland. I'm amazed there haven't been any shootings, etc.--probably have been, but they've managed to keep them out of the news--typical.
If you still insist on going there, though, don't get your hopes up. I used to have guests walk up to me all the time asking where such and such went, and complaining about how it's not like they thought it would be or remembered.

If you're going as far afield as Universal City, but would prefer either an add-on or just a cheap option...

Visit the La Brea Tar Pits and the Page Museum. They are next door to the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, so easy to find. (And the museum has a whole floor dedicated to the history of costume, thanks to Hollywood hand-me-downs.)

The Tar Pits is only one of three places on earth where tar seeps out of the ground and puddles up. An amazing number of animals get trapped there, as evidenced by one wall in the Page Museum that is basically a mosaic of several hundred dire wolf skulls. Nice articulated skeleton of an American Lion -- big enough to eat the African kind for lunch!

A picnic lunch on the roof of the museum is also nice, weather permitting.

But whatever you do, do *NOT* contemplate the fact that L.A.'s subway passes underground less than two blocks from the tar pits. Especially not if you plan to ride it.

Don't forget the nearby Farmer's Market, another L.A. institution. Both the La Brea Tar Pits and Page Museum, and the Farmer's Market have nice websites, well worth visiting. The La Brea one even has a cute color graphic story about a little dire wolf pup who tries to help in the hunt but almost ends up as a future exhibit!

Too bad you can't hang out in San Diego- The Beach, The Zoo, The Museums, The Wild Animal Park, Sea World, Old Town, Coronado, Point Loma,
You can spend a month there and not be bored! ;)
