Your FACTS are clearly wrong, and that's what's making you sound like an SG right now. That, and while I know a few of the CMs here have had a bit of an attitude about the Guests as of late, which may be making you sensitive to criticisms from them, but Zazu has been nothing but polite to the Guests on this board, so lay the hell off him. Zazu is good people.

I've only been to WDW once in my adulthood, and even I know you can sure as hell see a great deal more than a dot if you are inside the park. From a viewing spot in the hub you can see the performer and all her light up costume quite clearly, and I for one appreciate the fact that she goes up there and does that night after night for that extra little bit of realism, because you sure as hell would never get me up that high. Kudos to her.

Blah Blah Blah, My FACTS are clearly right in that is is IMPOSSIBLE to tell that Tink is an actual person from any distance further then being right up her butt at the time she flies, let alone being ALL the way over at the Contemp or the Poly.

In fact I have a photo I took from standing right under her as she flew over.
Just a normal photo, no mega zoom so normal eye view distance. We were standing at the curb to the path that goes to Fantasyland.

Cant tell much more then a dot of light.

Note that the ToT and EE are both under 200' for this reason. Main Street Station would need to be much lower than it is now if Tink was to land on the roof, note the "Elevation 108'" is for the platform, not the top of the roof of the station. The drop is not significant enough for her to gain enough momentum to make it from the castle to the train station. If you actually read the other responses on this thread, you would read that she sometimes does not make it with the setup now.

So, either you don't get it, or you want to argue just to argue. Either way, I had a good laugh.
The castle can remain the SAME height, as can the train station. the train station is MUCH lower the the castle. I don't understand why you people seem to grasp that. And no I am not talking about the "forced perspective" the actual building is tall enough to run a wire from the window to the window of the station and have enough of a drop angle to run the zip pulley and not have any problem making it to the end.

Shorty82 wrote:There is also the need for support equipment to hold up the cable and keep tension on it. Behind the landing platform there is a tower and the cable is attached to weights so as to accommodate cable stretch and maintain tension on the cable. There is no way, even if it was completely redesigned, for the station to accommodate the necessary support structures of the landing platform and cable tower.

As already been mentioned, the cable can't go down Main Street as there are to many obstacles. There are parades, the flag pole, the Christmas Tree, other Christmas decorations and what not the cable would interfere with. There's also the fact extremely tall pieces of equipment are used on Main Street periodically. There are high-lift booms used for maintenance work, camera and lighting booms and towers used for parade and commercial taping, etc. Where the cable goes now is far enough away from the areas this equipment gets used to not be in the way.

There's also the fact the landing area has to be completely out of sight of guests and as everywhere around the station are guest areas this wouldn't be possible.

How many of you actually know what Disney is??? Have we not seen Disney do the impossible EVERY DAY. If they had wanted to cable to run down main street to the train station, they could have made it work. that's what they do. I am not saying they could change it to work that way now (well they COULD if they wanted to) I know things like the Christmas tree and what not would get in the way. But had it been set up that way from the start, they would have made the changes to things (like the tree) to accommodate the cable.

I'd make sure my backpack is always closed from now on, or... Well, most of you guys know the rest of the story.

Jokes are funny..... that was not.

It was not a disposable camera it was a digital camera and the flash was not on. GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT!!!!!

The point of the photo was to show that from NORMAL EYE view you can not see the details showing Tink is a person. Your camera OBVIOUSLY was using a ZOOM so you could see more detail.

Ill save my anti Honda comments for never. . . Well, aside from the the fact that maybe He/she will be recalled with this recall that Honda announced today.

Now (Since I didn't see this posted), if you all look at the photos with the red circle. . . Look at the far right side of the picture. That somewhat long platform is where Tink flies too.

All though. . . I was just singing the George of the Jungle theme with Tink instead of George... And I kinda wanna see that now.

*Oh. And can we call Honda DisneyLover 2.0 now? Please please please please?

I've also heard that in auditions, they actually put the prospective Tinkerbell up on a crane to see what she looks like in "flight" (specifically for cases like this, when someone has a zoom lens)

*roll eyes* And that has WHAT to do with this subject???

(btw Honda's recall was a very MINOR recall, at least Honda's cars don't take off by them selves. Honda has the HIGHEST safety rating of any vehicles on the road.)

GoofyJoe, Can you use a larger photo of Tink next time? Having a heck of a time seeing Tink in the one you posted. Tiny little thing.

Just stating the fact that a big difference between the car and you is that the car doesn't talk.
