At least hurricanes are predictable, you never know when an earthquake will strike.
How Cold Is WDW? Damn cold is what it is! The temperature never left the 30's today and the wind chill never left the 20's I believe. It was so cold a higher up ordered at least ODF and outdoor merchandise locations shut down in the afternoon, don't know if anything else got shut down. It was about time too, was outside on a cart for an hour today and it didn't take long for me to lose feeling in my toes and it hurt to walk. By the end it didn't hurt to walk anymore as I had lost all feeling in my feet! Warmed up quick enough once I got inside though (and got sent to break).
Only made a few sales in that hour and I heard the other cart had even less than the one I was on. I was wondering at what point do they decide to just shut down the cart as more money is being spent to staff it than is being made.
Record lows tonight and tomorrow. I understand the high today was the lowest on record. There are hard freeze and wind chill warnings in effect.

Wow - now that is COLD in Orlando! I hope the tropical landscaping survives. I know they try to cover and protect some of it, but there's no way all those plants can survive.
Betcha it's going to drive the price of strawberries and citrus way up, too.

I was once at DLR in febuary, it was like 55 and the rain started pouring. I sat under that house front on main with the porch and watched the ducks swim down the flooded main street.
people were running and screaming all over. geez people, you are not made of sugar. ponchos sold out that day. I even saw a princess poke her head out of a store once. prolly trying to see if she could run off stage without ruining her makeup and dress.
beats having to go back to wardrobe and go thru the whole thing again...

It was the King Kong ride that got destroyed in the Universal Studios fire not the Earthquake! ride.
The Earthquake ride is fun if you are in the back of the tram and can watch all the out-of-state tourists' reactions. :D:

Whazzup, you can't fault me for trying to recruit one of WDW's BEST CMs & a friend I treasure. :) Never know till one begs & hopes.
Drastic would be sending darph with a damn pine float Whazz. :( Have to "try" & be nice to him.

It's a calendar thing. ;)

How are the crowds with all the cold? Is it keeping people away? I figured with the Marathon, then it would draw a lot of runners and their families, but I also am guessing that January is one of the slowest months of the year.
Couldn't imagine riding Big Thunder Mountain Railroad or even Test Track at Epcot in that kind of cold...

I could, I have been on roller coasters in the rain and it was awesome.
