I think there are about a dozzen bars. I hit the bottle neak at the Hilton and all the way down to Gilbert. Ball, I don't like that street. Maybe I will go to Haster and make a turn doen to Orangewood. Fast moving traffic there. I usually take that route on rain days.

Okay. Uncle darphs quick lesson in directions. West is towards that big blue watery thing called the Pacific ocean. East is towards that asphalt thingy called I-5. North is were you head to go to San Fran. That just leaves south. To see Shamu and friends, head 'south' on said I-5. Class dismissed.

actually, depending on where you are, you could be heading toward the water and be heading south, and going down I-5, you are really not traveling due south.

hehehehehe

when I first got my new GPS (many) years ago, we took a trip up to DLR, then on to solvang.

during the trip, I was a little suprised that my perception of the direction I was heading, at times, was off by almost 90 degrees.

To put it into Disneyland terms, when standing on Main Street and facing the Sleeping Beauty Castle you are facing north. West is the left side of the street (Emporium, City Hall, etc.) and East is the right side (Opera House, Market House, etc).

Mom couldn't tell the difference between north, south, etc.. Very frustrating giving her directions, had to all be left or right. East is where the sun rises, west is where it sets. If the rising sun is on your left, you're facing south. Same if the sun is setting to your right. If the sun is rising at your right and setting on your left, you're facing north. If it's high noon, get yourself one of those handy-dandy little compasses--not the ones used for drawing circles, the kind with the little swiveling needle in it--and learn to use it. The good ones have instructions. Look in the camping supplies section of either Target or Walmart. Otherwise, wait until the sun moves enough (yes, I know, it really is the earth turning!), so you know whether it's setting or rising. :p: :p: :p: :p: :D: :D: :D: :D:
