There was a LOT of outrage when it first happened because the media loved the "active in MADD" angle. Sadly the story died out and it took forever to come to court and by the time it did no one but the family seemed to care anymore. I've never been tolerant of drunk drivers, but that case made me firmly believe that if they kill someone they should be convicted of intentional homicide. When you start drinking with no alternate transportation plans you've made the choice and formed the intent in my view. Lock 'em up forever.
