At MK I had ducks come up to me twice looking for food, once near Pecos Bills, and the other time at the hub on our way to tomorrow land. I admit, I did the SG thing and gave the duck at tomorrow land some rice crispy treat, I figured she was probably eating crap all day so what was some sweets. The duck near Pecos Bills got pretzels. The funny thing was, since I was at WDW, it didn't seem odd to me that I could hand feed them. We didn't see any seagulls or pigeons, which we found to be odd.

Just because we choose to eat such unhealthy foods does not make it right to be given to animals. If you haven't seen any signs at WDW that say don't feed the animals maybe you ought to go back to school and learn how to read, because they are posted. It's just rule breakers like yourself that want to get away with as much as you can! You choose to ignore the signs. And if this would have ruined his vacation then it should have since he was clearly breaking the rules.

Oh god yes. I go to the parks looking to break the rules. I go there to have fun and enjoy myself. Not to have stuck up people like you walk around griping about everything. I know damn well if I was sitting there feeding the birds and you came up to me and said something. I'd prob stand up and knock you on your ass. If it was such a big deal then I am sure the CM's would have done something. it's their job, NOT YOURS. you are a guest. So be a guest and stop trying to act like you own the park.

I remember shortly after Liz and I got married, we went up to Bagby Hot Springs in Oregon. We took some food and drink with us, so that we could spend most of a day there. We filled one of the tubs, and a squirrel decided it was time to come explore our bounty. I shooed him away, actually smacking him the first time... did that a couple more times, until finally I growled, lunged and made a show of trying to bite him. Never did see him again.

Reminds me of a time, years ago. A buddy ad I were done at a local lake fishing. My boat was in dry-dock (broke down) so we're fishing from the dock.
We're having a good time,b.s.ing and drinking a few beers (you think?).We had a bag of peanuts with us,when this squirrel just walks up,looks at both of us ,and climbs right into the bag to help himself. We look at each other like WTF? Sure as shit, the little fart came back a few minutes later and do's it again. Well being the kind souls that we are,we let him have his fill. Still laugh about it to this day.

Reminds me about the time I was at mom's house, she wasn't inside and I look out the window and see her hand feeding a squirrel. She had to work up to it. We used to drop veggies to the rabbits living around our old apartment, to the point one of them would wait for me to get home, see my Jeep and then go wait under our patio.

I never got to feed the beavers that built a dam in the creek behind our building, went from 1.5' wide to over 30'. They even downed a huge tree that took out a fence and fell into the street.

If it was nuts the squirrel was after, I might have been nice about it... but it wasn't... it was chocolate. I didn't like the mental image of some poor little confused squirrel, out in the woods, suddenly starting to spasm and then dying the death that chocolate causes animals to die.

Would the outcome have been the same it the squirrel had opened the cooler and gone after a beer??

That factoid sticks out in my mind because it was one of the few things about him I couldn't relate to. I mean, it's not a bad song, but I've got several others just in that film alone that I like more. :)
I've always assumed that Walt's love of the song wasn't necessarily from the act of feeding the birds, but rather that it encourages you to slow down, look around you once in a while and appreciate the little things in life that you normally miss as you rush on by.
