Which in turn reminds me of the long-story ('shaggy dog') joke where the main character repeatedly, over the course of decades, comes across Tarzan -- "Now, Tarzan was painting stripes on a zebra. We don't know whether he was painting white stripes on a black zebra or black stripes on a white zebra, but it doesn't matter because it doesn't have anything to do with the story."
(Highlight for punchline: The moral of the story? "Tarzan stripes forever")

Are we way OT now?

Fantasyland strollers is the worst. We have large signs by the small world (skyway) lot. I direct people there...they just don't seem to see that there is an entire area full of strollers, just like theirs. My favorite part is when they come up to me and ask "If my stroller wasnt parked in the stroller parking lot, would it be moved here?" or "how come my stroller was moved from where I parked it into this parking lot?"

I think that when people rent a stroller, they need to be more aware that the same rules apply for strollers as they use for automobile parking: No double parking against a wall, no tripple parking, do not leave your stroller in a no parking zone or it will be towed. I think we need to start a stroller impound lot, or give out stroller violation tickets for illegally parked strollers.

I've heard that there have been times when strollers have been left unattended, and total chaos ensued. So when a guest bitches and moans how we moved their stroller, i just remember how needed we are.

Quick comment for the disney CM/parent of 3. Reguardless of the babyswap proceedure, You can't take a stroller through the que line. If there needed to be an emergency evacuation, you and your sleeping child in the stroller would be crushed.

I'm aware of that. I was only stating that there are guidebooks that make it difficult to ascertain what you can exactly do for the babyswap procedure. Granted, it's these same guidebooks that tell you to stuff your kid's sneakers with kleenex to get them on splash mountain. Reading the books, it's pretty easy to imagine that you just wander through the line, stoller and all, until you reach the front. I, for one, am TICKLED that you can have the other parent wait in the playground while the first one goes on. I can't imagine queing up for a ride and waiting an hour and a half and then having to explain to my four year old that it's just mommy and big brother going on while she and daddy stand there and wait. How fair is that?

IMO, if your child is say 8, 9 years old then they can walk. I hate seeing parents bring a stroller only to use it as a shopping cart and/or push the 8,9,10 year old in the stroller. Leave the stroller at home people and USE YOUR HANDS to carry the bags. Shoot, make the kid carry a lite bag. If it's too much trouble to carry them all day then at least wait till the very end to get yer shopping done. :chainsaw:

My wife and I affectionately call that area in Fantasyland "stroller gridlock." That's why when we go to MK, we go in the morning, and do Fantasyland first thing.

I know it's a losing battle, but I wonder why the stroller rental CMs cannot specifically outline the rules of stroller parking, especially in Fantasyland? Or, I know it might take away from the theme of the area (and guests probably would not obey it anyway), but how about yellow or white lines in areas that designate stroller parking, or even a walkway that is designated with lines, and have PEDESTRIAN
WALKWAY on it ?

Just an idea.

I'm on another site, and you should see the "stroller wars" that break out when stroller question threads come up. "If the kids can walk, why do you need a stroller?" "Obviously you don't have kids, so you don't know what it's like." (not at you, but at the recurring arguements)

I get the Unofficial Guide, and while I love the information in it, one thing I cannot stand is the perscribed "cheating" that is published in the book. They publish stories from guests to help other guests, and one was, (paraphrased) "Tell your readers to buy their kids the biggest, ugliest looking shoes with the thickest heel. Disney CM's measure a child with shoes on, so if your child is a few inches short, having him or her wear thick soles will allow him/her to get on more rides."
