I see where you are coming from. There was a few years ago a bunch of us where sitting in the shade. Metal tables with nice big umbrellas. Suddenly a thunder storm hits and no one wants to move. There was a paramedic run in the area. 30 minutes later, the fire department gets on their radio and tells everyone to get into the building! We learned, if there is a thunder storm roaring in the area and you are on metal or near metal, get out of there at once.

I simply started this thread because I also read "board X". (Maybe the most popular board x) and I simply don't see all the SGs that I've read references to. I mostly see nice folks looking for info in planning their trips.

I didn't want to stir up any arguments or debates or hard feelings. Cheers.
Do you spend any time on the community board? That'll chew you up and spit you out real good   . Seriously, if you read enough threads on any of the boards, you'll find the "entitled" crowd and the SG's everywhere. Especially if you hang around long enough. And the aforementioned board included. I've seen a lot of doozies, I just ignore them.

you can pick them out on board x, y, or zed just by the way they post at times.

(complain and get a free upgrade, complain because the CM didn't wish me a happy birthday because I was in a crowd of 5,000 heading into the park and he didn't see my button, and so forth)

want a way to see SG's? shut down an attraction for whatever reason (safety, etc.) and see the ones that DEMAND the attraction be opened back up for them because they are leaving for the airport in ten minutes, and the ONLY reason they came for a week was to go on the attraction. (yeah, their logic is flawed a bit)

Or they will tell you how much they paid for a vacation and demand some sort of compensation.

I have been to Disneyland more times than I can count, and WDW 12 times or so. we have had attractions get shut down, or are down for some maintence. no big deal, move on to another one and we will catch it next time.

like I said, its more of a poor entitlement attitude than anything else.
Yes, the attitude I've noticed recently is crazy! In fact, after reading comments from others and seeing the battle of those that feel "entitled" vs those of us that are just happy to be on vacation, I've decided we won't ask for a GAC (never have before, but now 3 of my family members qualify for one) -- unless something just totally melts down in our plans and the only other option is a vodka drip for me in the middle of MK!
Seriously, I've noticed recently, whether it's WDW or something else, everyone feels they are "special" and "entitled", that their case is an "exception" when it really isn't. It's just annoying to me.
Sorry, had to vent after something I read elsewhere recently.
I actually enjoy this board the most! Vent away CM's, please vent away!

I honestly don't know how the CMs do it. I have run into some guests that I wanted to smack b/c of the way they are speaking to the CMs. Being on vacation does not give you the right to treat people badly and I don't care how much you spent. I think no matter what board you go on, you will see bad behavior, it is so much easier when you don't have to look the other person in the eyes.

I have been reading past posts here since joining SG. I found SG in a post on fark.com. I have read several different X boards in the past years. When posters have referred to x boards I knew exactly what they meant, LOL.

I am a WDW fan. We own points at DVC in Old Key West. I worked for a subcontractor who did work on Philharmagic in WDW and Hong Kong. It was very exciting for me to go behind the scenes and to be part of the birth of a new park. I loved meeting and befriending CM's over the years as a customer and as a vendor. As in life, their were some great people and few with some attitude. Overall, quality people.

I have not posted in DIS for 5 months now. Not that I posted every day mind you. The reason I left DIS Boards are the DIZealots (my phrase copyright applied for...... :) ) and the moderators as well. Someone posted something negative about Disney in a thread. The man wrote a well constructed paragraph of his opinion. He did go overboard. He did not take cheapshots. Then the Dizealots attacked from the left and the right. He was called names, he was told he should go elsewhere on his vacation, there was a nasty tone in the whole thing. The mods even attacked the poor guy. He was told he should sell his DVC Points and leave. I wrote the editor and the mods about this thread and I was given points warning me. So, I left.

There is a definite Disney can do no wrong attitude on these boards. Disney must provide advertising dollars to DIS because management had the same attitude.

I am more of a realist. It is, what it is person. There are good and bad guests. There are good and bad castmembers. There are good and bad decisions made by Disney Management. One thing I have found though......There are no good Brazillian Tour guides......LOL

I really have enjoyed reading the views from the CM's. I promise not to expose you to the internet or the X,Y and Z boards.

Sounds like you'll get along great here, pbb. And how cool that you were a part of Philharmagic?? One of my favorite attractions ever.
