Time for a new Doctor! Sounds like you got in the path of a major tantrum...
Certainly there is a personality clash and unprofessional behavior going on.

It worries me that you threw away your inhaler- most of the patients who come into our Urgent Care with trouble breathing haven't been using theirs for whatever reason, and guess what, if things are bad enough you get a shot of steroids and some to go home with....Advair is a preventative med, maybe your new Doctor can put you on a regime that works better for you.
It sounds like they did a Rapid Strep test on your throat that came out negative for Strep Bacteria, so they said symptoms were a virus- did they send a throat culture to the lab? Rapid strep test is not always 100% accurate....
Hope you are feeling better soon! :)

Disneymom,
I got to hand out scholarships for the yacht club on Wednesday. Two went to kids heading to automotive schools and two went to kids that are heading to nursing school.
My one piece of advice to the nurses was learn how to set a painless IV as I got nailed by two med school students at Stanford and it still hurts. That got a good laugh out of the crowd.

Poor Hobie!

I agree, though.....It is that rough IV stick that the patients always remember! Most of the time I get it 1st try ;)

The first was a lovely young lady who apparently was having her first go with a nurse observing. The med student was so intent she never saw my eyes bug out but the nurse did. The nurse told me later she appreciated me putting up with the pain. I'm a sucker for a pretty face.
