Originally we were coming in January then we had to change it to February and then we had to change it AGAIN for September. This time it is set in stone. The hotel has been booked, hhsrat has already had the time off approved and I've submitted my time off request (don't know if BW has or not).
These delays are very annoying. I really, really want to visit DL and don't want to wait until September but I have to.
If it's in September, then maybe the Haunted Mansion will be down again getting dolled up for Halloween!
Oh, I hope not. I want to see the original Mansion.

WHAT!? We just put away the Marsupial Tails from when we thought we were going to become The Most Wallaby Place on Earth....
*sigh*
:p:
Good to hear that you guys have decided on a date.
This reminds me, I need to put in for time off for that same period. Can't think of a better excuse to use my one vacation day (from the four-week period when I was FT) :D: .

I was hoping for January, but things kept getting in the way of me being able to make a commitment. September, I can.

Should we get Moe to come up from Poway? I assume she will be able to get away from taking care of the kids.
Good timing, I have Thursdays and Fridays off. Maybe I will put in a few more vacation days? It would be fun to hang out with you guys like we did in Sept. :p:

We will be arriving September 9, departing on the 15th. As of right now, the plan is to stay at Paradise Pier, unless we can manage to get a really really awesome rate at the Grand Californian. (or if my travel agent friend manages to find us an even more awesome deal at one of the walking-distance Good Neighbor hotels)
Looking into airfare options at the moment. Haven't decided if we want to try for an early morning departure from Orlando (to maximize first day time), or if we want to aim for a noon-ish departure, so we can try to eat breakfast in WDW and eat lunch in DL. (Not that there's any particular reason for wanting to do this, I just think it'd be a cool accomplishment)

While it hasn't been announced this far in advance, I'm sure there will be a Cast Discount rate available at that time.
You can contact The Walt Disney Travel Company on (866) 411-3890 as the date approaches.
As for off-site, the Howard Johnson on Harbor Boulevard apparently offers a very good rate to those who purchase the Entertainment Book. It starts from $59 a night; and you can contact them on (714) 776-6120 or on (800) 422-4228.

So, you guys are arriving in California cause you want to celebrate my anniversary with me, huh? :)
Yes, it would be cool to have breakfast in WDW and lunch in DL.
BTW, Shorty.....Mansion usually closes right after Labor Day, so it'll probably be closed.

One thing we're thinking through is which airport we want to fly into. I don't think any of us likes the idea of flying into LAX, it really is an awful airport... and looking today there is not a major jump in price between LAX and other area airports.
Something that would be interesting... we could fly into San Deigo and take the Pacific Surfliner. It makes our trip cheaper, and I love trains. Talking to Shorty82, and he likes the idea, just have to find out from hhsrat. We will know how it works in a few moments...

The train must use a huge board to be able to surf all the way from San Diego to LA.
