I got to know Santa during my time at the MK and saw him again at the hotel the month he retired.

He had special dispensation to keep his long white beard year-round so that he could play Santa on stage and close up to kids who would cry foul (or at least cry) if they saw a fake beard.

The fact that he worked in BVCC as a contractor coordinator the rest of the year -- complete with his "Santa" nametag -- just confused people, which I think he also enjoyed.

So, it's *possible* for the Company to demonstrate some smarts in this field. I've seen on-stage CMs in wheelchairs, with braces or crutches, and with head scarfs. All were in roles where their differences from the Disney Look weren't a problem.

That said, given Amerika's paranoid condition about "towel-headed terrorists" today, I guess I can understand why somebody saw Sikh headgear as an issue.

What I want to know is, how does this "devout Sikh" justify compromising his religious principles about carrying a kirpan (short sword) at all times but can't do so for the turban? It was my understanding that they both were required (as well as the rest of the "five K's").

sure. there's two components really about them. Disney says no gaps and/or missing teeth. I have, unfortunately, both. My teeth didn't grow in correctly and are deteriorating rather quickly. Because of this Disney will not allow me to work an on stage role, though I have and have had no control over this-short of knocking out all of my teeth.

Have you considered looking into porcelains or veneers? If I remember correctly, there are quite a few dentists who give discounts to cast members (check the Disney Difference book) for those services. If you have dental insurance they might even cover it.

EB, you are right on target. :) Many dentists & other Drs. do offer CM discounts. Disney Difference book will help, yet the best is to just ask before booking. My very fav Dr. gives me 1/2 off because I've brought him so many DLR work injuries. After treating CMs & returning them to work, the Dr. gives most CMs discounts. He also knows how to write "correct" DLR med notes!! Asking for discounts near Disney simply makes LOGICAL sense. In Ca. one is also able to get free dental / med care if they are of Native American lineage, Spanish & or Mexican American lineage - back to 1769, of low income & the list goes on. ectomstr, my info is only from Ca. but Plz try wherever you are. You might be very surprised & find a dentist who will work with you & give you all the help you need. Good Luck.

I knew someone who had missing front teeth and the ones she did have were deteriorating. Add to this she was a total moron who thought she was the boss just because she was the union shop steward.

Point is, don't let that stop you from pursuing a job with Disney if it's what you really want to do.

Okay drcorey...elaborate for us please.... ;) Which friend?
I would love to be a *friend* at Disney. I guess I could be friends with Maleficent! I an not unlike her on my *bad* (read Menopausal raging) days! Or I could really be friends with Baloo, I like bears! I am just a little shorter than Baloo is! ;) How bout Goofy? I REALLY want to be friends with Goofy, I LOVE Goofy. I can speak just like him. :goofy2:

When we were at WDW, I went up to Goofy in the character meet-n-greet at EPCOT and started to talk to Goofy as Goofy. He fell madly in love with me right them and there! So there. ;) awwwwwwwwwwwwwwww....

I can also *do* Mickey :runaway: , Homer and Marge Simpson :homer: :marge :( wrong Park) the Wicked Witch of the West from Wizard of Oz and a few other characters as well as different nationalities and caricature voices It CAN be fun sometimes! Try sneaking on someone with a *funny* voice and watch them pee their pants....Muwahahahahahaaaaaa....

You should call our phone number sometime, you never know which Disney character is visiting our house and does our outgoing message! :p:
I worked in Radio announcing for many years and can do a bunch of voices. Used them for adverts, blipverts (who knows THAT reference?) and for fun on the air!
The Princess! :queen:

Well, I have a missing tooth, and a gap. While I have my two front teeth, my adult incisor tooth on my right side never grew in, and the one on my left is only half a tooth, called a peg tooth. I had no problem with Disney about this.
