Cheshire, how are you able to self cert for a small plane pilot's lic? Is this a FL. law only? I've never heard of obtaining a self cert in Ca. My Dad had a few Pipers & Cessnas so I was almost raised in the air. He was determined I learn to fly. Mom was not too thrilled when I finally got my Ca. pilots lic. Those old yellow Pipers are fun & amazing to fly up & down the coast.

Pilot's License are regulated by the FAA, it's the same no matter where you go.

Under the relatively-new sport pilot rules, no medical is required. As long as you have a current valid driver's license, you can self-certify yourself as fit to fly. Of course, you fly with a lot of restrictions: only certain aircraft, and I believe day VFR only.

The idea behind the rule is that (1) if the state trusts that you're fit to drive a car, you're likely to be okay to fly, and (2) in a very real sense, every pilot self-certifies every day he flies between medicals. (As Cheshire says, if you've ever been denied a medical or had it revoked, you can't use the self-certification rule.)

ETA: Scary the common interests we're finding on this board, eh? :)

I witnessed mine last week in EVEREST's single rider line! My sister & I waited the 15 minutes in single rider, because to be honest we didn't need to wait 60 minutes to sit together on the train! The couple ahead of us were, obviously, on a blind date which she did NOT appear to be enjoying. Probably the reason they were in single rider....LOL! She was seated in the last car of a train & when cast member paired him with another party, he began with "but I with her. Can't we sit together?" My sister & I couldn't figure out where he thought he was (since it had become apparent by this time that he KNEW ALL ABOUT EVERYTHING!), but we agreed that he must have entered the "special guest" line which would whisk him magically past the 60 minute wait & allow him to ride in splendor. Of course, the poor cast member now had to come over & explain to everyone else in line that our parties would be split up. I don't know how y'all manage to keep a straight face somedays.

Note that the hot tub is outside the loop. We use this more than the main pool in any event.

Besides, it's not like I can't take out a few sections by the freakin' steps!

Maybe we'll have to start work on an automatic draw bridge. :D:

BTW I have now added the 10 photos of the totally over the top campsite layout.

One of these days I'll figure how to just post a link to the entire album and save you all the trouble of this long list. The only thing left at this time is to shoot some photos of my home layout (which will PROVE that I am insane). :)

I really like that layout. It sorta has a Disneyland bent to it.
