My brother has long said that our fortunes would be made with the "Toddler Tazer" - his tag line? Cause they're all cute when they're asleep.

I personally am against spanking, I feel that there are better ways to discipline children, although I understand why people do it. I was never spanked, and my parents never had to hit me to get my attention. My friends who were spanked frequently tell me that it taught them to not get caught, or to even fear their parents, it rarely resulted in stopping their behavior. There are some great discipline methods out there that are far more effective, even though they may take more work. My favorite that I've heard is one that my grandmother did. Now, my grandmother was a widow with three boy who was a drill instructor for the army and then worked for the OSS and CIA. Apparently my father got into the habit of calling his brothers liars and she had him write, "I shall strike the nomenclature prevaricator from my vocabulary" 100 times. She told him that he had to tell her what it meant, and if he didn't know, he had to look up the words. Not only does he still remember it to this day, he said that he never engaged in that behavior again!

Yeah, I was always anti-spanking, until child #4. It's hard to have a two year old write 100 sentences . . . and all my other brilliant parenting tricks? Nope. Luckily, in addition to being a very challenging child, he's a very sweet, loving one. But I do think God has a sense of humor . . . waiting until the fourth one (!)

How about giving kids and parents special lanyards as they enter the gate....which in reality are Taser devices. If a CM catches the SGs breaking a rule or being obnoxious/threatening, after reasonong has failed, the CM secretly presses a hidden button on their costume and ZAP!!!! They're down for the count! During which they will be taken out of the park and not allowed back in! Don't forget to take back the special lanyards! :D:

Well, I have seen a lot of the "no spanking" theory, the joke is that you don't know its effective until its too late.

A smack to the rear and a stern NO corrects the problem post haste, its a quick and sure correction. the NO tells them they did something wrong, and the smack to the behind, where they were provided extra padding for just that occasion, helps them remember it quickly. It also lets them know that there ARE boundries that they should not cross. The beauty is that you only have to do it once or twice when they are small, the memory of the stern NO will then take its place.

AS I have stated before, I have been successful in raising several kids, who are by no means meek and mild!

The other ones ...well, a certain number of them never are corrected, or grow up to believe that they can do anything that they want, and they, of course, become the SG's that we so despise.

The other, more hard core self centered ones, become the reason why we have to make and unbelieveable amount of laws, and employ police forces.

But I guess security forces and law enforcement need job security!!

wouldn't it be easier to just issue trank guns? Maybe a spring loaded tube up the sleeve (zip gun) with a nice fast acting trank dart.

See SG.

See SG be BAD.

See CM raise arm.

See CM press hidden trigger.

See SG fall asleep. Sleep SG, sleep.

See sleeping SG carried to a tramp steamer headed, nonstop for northern Iceland. Goodbye, SG, goodbye.

 :D:

Hmmm, there IS some merit to that!!

But why not put them to work scrubbing the drinking fountains!!! or make them work in a new booth inside each park, Labeled "Unlimited complaint department"

Because their poor behavior would still have a chance to spread to other guests. Extreme SG behavior is like a virus that can infect non-SGs or borderline-SG guests. So such behavior needs to be quarantined. Maybe a nice "Mousetanimo Bay" facility.

But for the more mild forms of the disease your suggestions may help to remove the virus from the system without a full quarantine. Of course there will be the few "inadvertant" or just "DOH" type of SGT that should be delt with by a simple point and laugh. It's amazing how strong an innoculation a good "being laughed at" can be.

That, or ship them to "discovery Island" (the "original" it could be the new botany bay!!)
