Question for those who have sailed the Disney boats: Do they have daily team trivia contests? Of the two sailings I have done with Holland America, the daily team trivia has been my favorite activity. The cruise I took last December, I was on a winning trivia team. We won almost every game. It was a lot of fun!

I wonder how long it will be before an SG tries to either stand up or figures the centrifugal force will carry them over the side of the ship if they jump out. Alcohol will be part of the decision making process.
I've been on the water roller coasters before, they probably won't be stopping and if alcohol is involved the timing won't be right to attempt to jump. The open areas are over the deck, but I'm sure the lawyers will have this covered, literally, by a net or something, so the SG's can't attempt that swan dive off the ride.

They haven't always been daily, but I have found trivia contests on board on different occasions. I won a Disney trivia contest on my first cruise. Got a couple of prizes, too -- a medal, a Disney Cruise Line keychain, and my favorite prize, a small DCL logo pin like the ones crew members wear. (The CM running the contest told me he was leaving the ship for a job in San Diego, and I suspect he was giving away his extras!)

Not in my experience, but as a CM my wife and I are ineligible to win prizes, so don't pay good attention.

Here's a web site with a big collection of Personal Navigators from Disney cruises. A look at recent ones for the same cruise as you plan to take should give a good indication of what will be on offer.

Thanks for the info BRWombat and Zazu. The website link was very informative.
I would have liked a medal for winning trivia. (HAL probably should have given one to our team for winning so many games!) Our team won pins (which were just promos-not crew related), travel mugs, and a lot of coaster sets. The latter I gave as Christmas presents to my office co-workers.
There were three types of team trivia. There was the regular team trivia, pub trivia, and Name That Tune trivia. My team didn't play Name That Tune trivia and we only played the pub trivia (which was only different in name from the regular trivia) when it didn't interfere with our dining time.
Keep in mind that HAL markets their cruises primarly to senior citizens so a lot of the activites are low key. HAL also has a casino and a library.
The shopping looks better on the Disney boats and for certain the art work available. (There were some humorous golf prints by Marc Davis on my cruise, but they were poorly produced.)
I thought the photo prices on the HAL boats were pricey but I should have known better!

And that website is run by our own beloved Syndrome, who with her hubby has somehow managed to take more Disney cruises than the rest of humanity combined -- and I include the captains of the Disney ships in that total!

Crushn Gusher at Typhoon Lagoon has netting over the open areas. It's tough enough hanging on that you really couldnt hop out over the side of the trough without rolling out of your tube first.

Even higher speed than the Disney water coasters is Niagara River run at Great Wolf Lodge, which uses both water jets and high speed conveyer belts to shoot you uphill! Nets on that ride as well.

She should get her master's ticket so she can drive the boat. ;)

Speaking of Syndrome, has anyone seen her around lately?
