Wow, Bru, what an incredible story. Couldn't have happened to a more deserving person.

Your limited eyesight probably doesn't let you see it. The rest of us can though.

Quoting the Bru-

"late that night after the vigil, in the company of some very special CMs, I stood on the balcony on the third floor of the Grand and looked up at almost five in the morning, and for the first time in two years, I saw the stars."

Now I am crying. Bru, that's so fundementally awesome that I cannot speak.

My love to you and March.

Everything fell perfectly into place for the trip in ways I never could've hoped when I got the last seat on the first flight I could, two hours before the plane left. From the moment I got on on the plane until the moment I went back to OIA it was like someone was making sure I was exactly where I needed to be at every possible moment.
Sounds like Austin was working Magic for you Bru. Maybe. :)

Aww geez. you guys are making me cry too...

tonight is the Perseids, and I don't know if i'll get to see any with all the city lights but i'm getting ready to go outside in the Big Ugly Glasses (and Wallaby has seen these up close he can tell you they're BIG) and see if I can catch sight of meteor or two. they'll be the prettiest glasses in the world if i can catch a glimpse of that.

thanks guys, you're all so wonderful. Mainstreeter, If Austin did have anything to do with the Magic, I would be so honored that he took notice of me from his new vantage point up there.

you know, it was amazing. during the vigil, it was raining but the candles didn't go out.

however, when the sun set there was a lady there lighting everybody's candles from one (representing Austin) right after she lit mine, the wind kicked up and hers went out. She started to fret and I said "here, it's okay..." and I just automatically lit hers again with mine.

that was the moment when i pretty much decided that if the opportunity presented itself (which it later did) that I'd say a few words.

and I don't remember most of what I said, but I do know I said this: that I was only one of thousands out there online who really do care about CMs, and who remember the magic that they make for us long after our trips are over.

When I said that, I was thinking of you guys.

xoxo

PS Hobie, really dude. Really? Where's the friggin' kleenex... you're way too kind.

Bru,

I had to stay here at home, work and take care of my parent's house. Add a ADHD Savannah cat and you have some fun. My parents have been spending at least 5 hours through the day at my Aunt's bedside. She is still in the same condition as 5 days ago. She is under strong drugs and is awake in the mornings.

My parents will be coming home tomorrow.

Bru, thanks for all the support. :)

So here's the update on grandma.... today.... one of the transformers at the hospital EXPLODED. It caught a dumpster on fire in the process and grandma saw smoke outside her window and even a little in her room. All the rooms were evacuated and the fire deparment had to come in. Grandma was moved to a room far away from the action and plugged into the emergency power. The hospital is still running on generator now, and she's back in her room for now, but it was a harrowing day........

The world seems to be quite bizarre these days LOL

Candles for Austin were covered by the wings of angels.
