The Brazilians are notorious for high-fiving. A station stop was hit due to their actions the other day, however it was hit too late; the train was beyond the brakes. The train did not make A-Lift, so the ride auto e-stopped causing an evacuation and a lengthy reset. I was tasked with writing re-ad passes. As the Brazilians who caused the downtime approached, my coordinator, with a very angry tone said to the group "YOU! COME HERE!" Aside from their usual antics, chanting, line jumping, etc, this has been the highlight for me.
Wow!

I was shocked...one of the guides actually let Mr. Syndrome get in front of her in the FP machine line at Toy Story Mania today. She told him she had 50 and he said, "I only have two, can I go first?" I got the impression that it wasn't so much her being nice as her being shocked that he asked...she looked confused like she didn't know what to say, so she finally said, "Okay."

One evil thing we love doing in character switch out is saving the bunch of Brazilians for our back to backs. If we have less then 5 mins laft in a set and we have a group coming up. They will pull us. We come in, our back to backs go out - and as they do we say, "Enjoy the Brazilians!"

The groups are bad at Disneyland too. My sister and I were getting off of Splash Mountain and heading towards the restrooms under Hungry Bear. This group of 50 estimated SG were stopped for no reason and would not move. We had to crash through them to get where we needed to go.
I kept on wondering if there is a big group, wouldn't you pull that heard of cows to the side and let the other guests go by?
Also when they do their chanting, screaming and yelling, it is annoying. They would make a great audiance for the Jerry Spring Show. I seriously hope not to encounter any of their groups when I return to WDW in Sept. 2008.

We always go to WDW in September, I don't think I have ever seen a tour group there. But then again, I wasn't looking for them! (hehe) Would they be back in school then?
Going again this September, so I can hope they are elsewhere!!

Back in our tourist days we used to come to WDW the week after Labor Day and during the lull between Thanksgiving and Christmas and never saw the Brazillians. It wasn't till we moved down here and I started venturing over to the parks in summertime that I had the pleasure. Believe me, if they're there you will NOT be able to miss them.

I saw them swarming MK last week. *shudders with fear.
This makes me so grateful I have an office job with WDW so I don't have to deal with these screaming packs of teenagers anymore.
And to Joanna: are they really that bad around the characters?

I have to agree with Big Wallaby on this one. We went to WDW 6-25 to 7-4 and we really couldn't get over how nice they were - maybe we were just lucky?? When we travel to WDW its always in the summer and we have seen some of the many antics they can produce... Most of the groups this summer didn't seem as large, we didn't hear much chanting, and many were very polite to us as well!!
I don't know, but we thought it was great this year and gave us hope in the youth of Brazil ;)

Oh yeah! It is extremely necessary to do that with large groups...otherwise it is really hard to get in.

Yes they are!! Don't even get me started on the things they do. Luckily I have never had any of them get physical with my character(s).

Disneyprincess: As an entertainer, I have had to deal firsthand with their antics. During parades, we will not go near them during meet and greet section of the routines. If they are on that part of the route, we do a walk and wave. They will grab our arms and try to steal our gloves or any other costume piece in reach. They will also hold us down and try to prevent us from returning to our routine.
The worst that I ever had was at the Hat. At the Hat the characters round robin, so we typically do not have attendants with us when we walk to and from. One group figured out where the entrance to backstage was. They blocked it and prevented one of hte groups from getting off set. They actually held down Friar Tuck and tried to pull his head off. The person came back practically in tears.
