what I REALLY wanted, and still want, but wanted more when I was there, was for the fastpass line to end outside, and that entire part of the queue to stay completely full at all times, unless the line is just too short. In fairness though, there's usually an indy or custodial CM passing through there every few minutes, and if there's an adequate flow of guests through there the problem takes care of it's self, when I was temple entrance, I tried to make sure the end of the line was poking into that section, and that someone was passing every few seconds... apparently though within a week the crew was almost completely replaced, or re-freshed anyway.

I'm not sure if this reflects what other people see, but I get a lot more of the "excuse me, we're trying to catch up with the rest of our party" in queues at DL than at WDW. I suppose sometimes the queues might get so long that someone has to leave for a potty emergency, but should one person get to hold spots in line for the rest of their group while they get snacks, shop, go on another ride, whatever?

The disneyland standard is one for one, If six people leave there better be six people in line, maybe five if it was mostly kids gone, you get the picture though.

I have actually gotten the exact opposite of this story at MK two weeks ago, a SG used "narcing" to get ahead of other guests in the FP line at Pan. What happened was we were waiting at the FP line entrance because the CM was helping a wheel chair guest by telling them how they could board the ride, and how they would have to transfer chairs and what not... no big deal... we were first in line to get in the line and then a LARGE troop of people (not brazillians though just as evil perhaps) walked up next to us. when the attendant opened the line back up, the first of the troop pushed in front of us as we were handing the CM our FP to check and we didnt feel like objecting... because well it was a FP line and we were in a good mood at that point... but then we realized this guys troop was like 30 people... and then at the end of his troop another couple families were waiting. So when the troop finally got through the CM again attempted to take our FP, but the first family tried to give their to the CM, well meanwhile about four families back some guy started yelling, "hey we all have been waiting here, stop cutting" directed at us and the families in front of him... thing is I am pretty sure he had just walked off IASW across the lane since his wife was just catching up. anyway... most of the families ALLOWED HIM TO CUT! i heard one man say "well i don't want to get kicked out of the park because of this guy" as he stepped aside. And basically the guy pushed all the way up and cut my fiance and I off ... we kind of just stood in shock. Needless to say our moods soured a bit from that encounter... but our moods were restored when the CM at the merge point gave us our FPs back and told me to have a Happy B-day. (I was wearing a button.) so anyway... not that you shouldn't narc on people... i just think it is weird when people abuse the "narc" ability.

Ah, so PrinceofSka you've seen our new 3 queues! It gets VERY frustrating over at FP return especially with the wheelchair queue. We don't have enough queue space for the amount of FPs we have coming in, and it often blocks the wheelchair enterance. Standby is supposed to help out with either covering your FP queue or taking care of the wheelchair queue, but often they are so busy dealing with other guests complaining about the 70+ min. wait or calling security to deal with a violent guest at merge to be able to be at both places. I'm glad you got an awsome CM at merge though! Pan (at least for me) is one of the most stressful places to be between noon and 6pm. Seems like everyone is yelling at you for something!

sorry for the slightly OT rant...

I am a narc, too. I was riding the Haunted Mansion with my son and I smelled marijuana coming from the clamshell in front of me. When I got out at unload I blocked the teenagers and told the CM to call his lead, who turned out to be someone I had worked with, and we got security to take them away. I filled out a complaint and got them kicked out of the park. It's just not right!
