Yeah same with Mansion and Pooh if you gotta go in you gotta power down. Most of the time with Mansion we can just cycle out. (Usually after a 5 minute ride stop or longer cause facilities has to look at the problem before we can decide what the option is). Pooh usually is an evac, and guests are all mad because we don't do readmits at pooh cause we're usually up within 30 minutes and we offer the parties that were stuck the chance to wait for us to come back up and get immediate boarding.

Indy Rarely Powers down... the 5 years I worked on that attraction I think I only had to reset the zones twice.... Thunder use to be cool when you went 101 for a station backup you made the guest stay in the train and then just reset the ride and pull the trains off at the station downtimes would be only 15 minutes then the rules changed and downtimes for Backups became 45 minutes or longer.... I love at splash how some CMs will complain if they have to Evac B lift and C lift for it is a cake walk next to having to evac Finailly and Station apporach

When your ride auto e-stops you power down the attraction.
Indy must be a bit different, b/c we've come up from auto e-stops w/o powering down, then agian, we got another auto e-stop right after that b/c the vehicle that cause the first one spazzed agian, facilities had to go reposition it, and we wound up powering down and back up agia, we still had like five more ride stops after that for various zone time outs.
Unless its changed, and I don't really think it has, any time there is an Auto E or a manual E stop at Indy the ride has to be powered down to reset it. I was a trainer there before I went to Critter Country.

is all this pre or post RAC, and lock out tag out? i know at indy we lock out on the "ACCESS OK" switch, which does and auto ride stop, and that we can tag out on the power disconnect, but i can't come up with any reason why, other tahn facilites maybe needing to work on the track with no, and power not being allowed to run through it.

I think the reason maybe you guys are confused is your talking about two different things. But maybe I'm just crazy. Aren't auto ride-stops and an auto e-stops two completely different things? I know at Carrousel and Dumbo they are. But then again they could be the same cause when either of them happen at routes we still power down. Oh goodness :? now I've even confused my self.

At least at Mansion they are. We hit ride stops for various reasons. If we have to E-stop mansion (it never auto anythings) we gotta power down then power back up. At pooh we have station stops and we can have auto station stops but this doesn't effect the running of the attraction. If we auto e-stop we have to power down then get guests out then power back up.

indy we have ride stops, and ride entry stops, ride stops are like huge station stops, you hit it, and pull it up and all you have to do is hit the green ride start button, and hope you don't get any zone time outs, ride entry stops work like a ride stop, we have it at belts as a chicken out feature, pretty much when you hit it the ride stops, you call up to tower " hey i'm taggin out on the ride entry stop to get some screamin kid, clear the ride stop," and they hit the ride start and zones 8-60 resume operation (zone 8 is the doors to the chamber of destiny) and we can go get people off the ride and bring them someplace where they'll be comfortable, and feel safe. (ie we throw thier asses out of the attraction for taking up our time.) the only thing i can think of for a manual e-stop is to oncur with an auto e-stop, and of course if we see someone on the track. ride stops are for various things, someone manages to fail at remaining seated (stands up), a door opens, if we're getting ready to tag out, if there's an auto ride stop, (vehicle timeout, show failure, and certian other things)

I figured we were all talking about different things. I mean just like Pooh all of the classics dark rides either station stop(recoverable) or e-stop(auto or manual, for people running back into the attraction or trying to steal things ie. apple, septer, bowtie). And when vehicles timeout that just causes an auto e-stop. The only difference between a ride stop and an e-stop at the round rides is with a ride stop the ride continues for another half a cycle and you don't usually have to power down and up, and an e-stop causes the attraction to stop immediatly and you have to press the power disconnect in unless you want to blow fuses. Oh well it's all very strange......

at indy it takes forever to come back from an e-stop, that why we have the ride stop, and that still can take an hour or two, i think the shortest downtime that i've ever been a part of was like half an hour, and that's because facilites showed up to fix the problem right away, and we hit a ride stop anticipating a long down time. so all we had to do was evac, and then come back up.

This makes me glad for our 5-30 min downtimes. Unless something really goes wrong...
