Stupid Guest Tricks

Now to add to an already stressful weekend, we just had small earthquake, a 3.5.
The whole theatre shook pretty good. It sits on giant springs, so once it starts moving it takes a few minutes to settle. The brick walls had visible ripples to them!

At least the weather is ok this summer. But we would all love to see heavy rains over the weekend, to keep tempers down in the demonstrations.

The quake was actually a 5.0 centered north east of Ottawa. 18 miles deep.

I saw in the news that the police busted a guy that had explosives for the G20.

It sounds like he was more likely acting as relay between police radios and protesters. And with this guys knowledge of computer security, he may well have hacked into the police computer systems.

This morning some geniuses robbed a bank, not far from that guys house. Since there was already a large number of cops in the area, the response to the robbery was huge. they ended up with a fleet of police cars and 2 helicopters responding, then tried to escape down a dead end street. 2 of the 4 were captures immediately, they other 2 headed down into a ravine. I'm sure the dogs will have them by now. In trying to make their escape they fired a shot at the police, near a school. Morons ! I hope the dogs get carried away when they find them!

WTF is wrong with these people?? If they would focus their efforts on doing something 'good', they might make bigger headlines.

I'm not sure if we should be relieved or not. Today's protest by a number of Aboriginal groups was both peaceful and dignified. Kudos to them.

But the police arrested this loon at a routine stop with a crossbow, chainsaw, sledgehammer and four baseball bats in his car. Likely not headed to a company pick-nick!

The incident happened just down the street from the hotel hosting the delegation from France. Where the hotel workers are out on strike! I really hope he was not headed for the picket line!

I saw that on CNN during lunch. I would wonder if that was a homeless guy just traveling around, maybe from protest to protest?
