That department should go right between the new Fantasyland and Liberty Square, just this side of Small World. There, or straight back behind the castle, where everyone, Guest and Cast alike, see it when they enter the park. And if I can swing the idea, you've got the job.
What do you guys think?
I love it in Frontierland. I have already seen ways that I am moving forward personally. It is turning out to be very definitely the right decision. Interesting stories about whom I am working with... one of them was a Manager in Monorails who, for the first year or two of his being there, the high-seniority employees (I refuse to call many of them Cast Members) tried to drive him out of the company before they realized he is actually pretty cool. For me, the fact that I am now meeting him and working directly under him is pretty cool.
I have also come tor realize how much I have missed many aspects of attractions, where my first job is Safety, and after that it is to Make Magic, not protect myself in any way necessary from guests.
I have a long way to go to get back to my old style, but it won't take long.
This morning, I did the track walk at Thunder, and I think it is one of my top favorite Disney experiences. There are so many special things on that ride and show that it would be impossible for any guest to see everything. So many little details... the fact that you go by so quickly almost makes them a waste, except that now I know they are there and can properly love them... And so, I no longer call anything there a waste.
I can tell I am going to love my time at Thunder. The people I work with all seem to be good people and the managers and training team are awesome... and it's inside the Magic Kingdom! For the first time, I have a costume that looks good on me and I am constantly moving.
I love it.

That's really incredible, BW. Sounds like this is just what you needed. Good for you.
Getting to walk the tracks and see all of the details at Thunder sounds amazing. Disney does the details better than anyone; how cool that you get to see things the guests will miss!

I'm glad you're enjoying it! Walking the track must be a neat experience. One of my neighbors up here works on Kingda Ka (at Great Adventure) and he walks the track most mornings. The little details must be truly amazing....Disney never lacks in the themeing for any ride or experience. And, I agree - the ride is a bit too fast to enjoy all of it; my son and I always try and find something different when we ride.
Have a wonderful day, everyone!!!

I love that ride, and despite having ridden it probably 40 times, I still see things I haven't seen before (of course many of those were at night so it was doubly hard)
Glad to hear the transfer has rejuvenated you. I can certainly understand and have been there a few occasions myself.
My family and I (all 10 of us) are coming down in less than 3 weeks. Are you one of the CMs that likes to be found? I just like to tell the CMs how great they are to do what you do and let you know that we're not all SGs.

And what was wrong with Purple??? I thought you looked good in it and weren't we moving most of the time?
J/K I'm really happy for you. I really do want to see the Wallaby of old again. It was amazing the way you always made magic for the guests back then. After all, was it not you who has the call sign Magic1 for a little while?

Congratulations again on your move! Great to hear that you're in a place that's really engaging your strengths.
Care to share any tidbits about things we're missing on the attraction? Though, I do try to focus in a little closer when I ride by on the Walt Disney World Railroad, it is true that one can't really notice a lot of the smaller details while riding. And I think the fun in Disney is that you'll almost never run out of little details to find everywhere, particularly in the parks.
