Re: Stupid HHN Tricks
Since this topic popped back up on my radar...
Took the kidlets (dd 9, and ds 11) to their first Halloween Haunt at the Local park.
My Daughter is used to me being all ghouled out (click here for last Halloween) so the wandering scareactors didn't bother her... but in the mazes with the darkness and flashing lights.. she was a bit scared.. and the teenage "Scream Queens" behind us didn't help much with their blood curtling screams whenever they turned a corner (scare actor or not).
After a few mazes she got the hang of thins though, and started having a good time and actually waving to the ghouls :)
In one of the mazes (the Asylum)a scareactor resembling a bloody child asked her to play.. and she actually said OK! we had to drag her out of the place :)
She couldn't stop talking about her though ..

Were you at Canada's Wonderland? Halloween Haunt was started at Knott's Berry Farm 36 years ago. Cedar Fair introduced Halloween Haunt to other parks they own starting a few years back. Interesting that they also use some of the same maze names too. The Asylum has been a maze at Knott's for many years.Canuikstan wrote:Since this topic popped back up on my radar...

Yup.. Canada's Wonderland it would be..
GruvGrl and Myself went last year with my parents.. thought it was kinda cool and that the kids would like it , but they were both to afraid last year to go.. this year, they were excited, so we went!

Re: Stupid HHN Tricks
Oh wow, HHN! This was my first year going and I went on the very last night of the event, so there was almost no wait for the houses. While I only went in 4 of the houses (Interstellar Terror, Doomsday, Scary Tales, and Creatures!), it was still creepy as hell. In fact, as I was coming upon the exit for Creatures!, I failed to notice the scareactor right behind me. So as soon as he jumped up and growled, I booked it out the door. :D:
For Narnia! And for Aslan!

Re: Stupid HHN Tricks
You all can keep HHN. I'll stick with MNSSHP. I like my Halloweens on the less scary end of the spectrum.
Here's the thread being talked about.Tinker Bell wrote:Oh sweet lord! Don't leave us hanging! Do share, my curiosity is killing me.
Around here, however, we don’t look backwards for very long.
We keep moving forward, opening up new doors and doing new things, because we're curious…
and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths.

I like the MNSSHP, it was allot of fun this year. Last year on the 1st week it rained hard. They did a great job on the headless horseman too. Too bad Disneyland does not host a Halloween party in their park like MK does. I would like to see more if they did. :)
