I had the same thought of Disney buying the seaworld in Orlando at least. It would be easy for them to bus people from WDW property to Seaworld. I havent been there myself but I get the impression its not to far away. Busch gardens on the other hand is quite a bit farther. As far as San Diego goes seaworld is over an hour away but there is already the city pass that has 3 day hoppers, univ and seaworld/zoo/animal park so that might be a viable option also. It will be interesting to see what happens. But I dont think any of the major parks will close, just change hands, if Inbev isnt interested there will be someone who is. And it wont be six flags, they are in way to much trouble now, they just dont offer enough and I think over extended themselves. Of course GE might want to expand also, I believe the Universal parks are even closer to seaworld than Disney and the addition of a third/fourth park will make them more competitive with Disney. I know you could get a ticket to seaworld that included a day or days at BG with shuttle service from SW to BG included, this sort of think might make Universal more of a destination resort with 4-5 parks available to guests.

I would not put any money on Disney buying Seaworld. First off there are too many cultural work differences between Disney and AB. And most importantly, I think that Disney likes to set their own standards and expectations from the beginning of any project.

Good reasoning but what about Go, rights to the Muppets and Bear in the Big Blue House from Henson, Club Penguin, the buy back of Disney Stores and Pixar?

Hmm, what about Discovery Cove? I am pretty sure A-B sponsors them, but I am not sure if they actually own the park. Although I do know that some packages come with admission to SW and BG.

The different subsidiaries of Disney do things drastically different. It is true that big Disney will purchase anything of convenience, but as far as Disney Parks go, I see it unlikely. Especially after so much investment in the Disney property, the Reedy Creek Improvement District, cities of Lake Buena Vista and Bay Lake, etc. I see them far more likely to expand something aquatic in the property such as in DaK rather than going out and gobbling up such an alien entity to Mickyfy.

Plus just imagine how difficult it will make the future Monorail expansion! Simply unacceptable.

Discovery Cove is an arm of the Sea World empire. As far as the persons who say it is out of char. for the mouse to buy up its competitors becouse of "culture" diffrences... I say to that... No such thing.........



Disney as a whole as nothing against buying whats around it. They can justify the purches to say well... now we do not have to build "The Night Kingdom" that isrumored/leaked to be being built near DTD.
