When my kids were little it was Melissa Etheridge singing about the letter U, and I can't remember which song to save my life! I do remember her singing to a pair of underpants, though...

The song title is "Like The Way I Do" and I'm listening to it right now. :D:
I tend to buy lots of odd music and I have a box set called "Songs from the Street". It's 3 CD's of songs from Sesame Street. One of my favorites is Steven Tyler singing "I Love Trash"! :D:
"C is for Cookie" anyone?

. . .That's good enough for me!
I did like "Letter B" (Let it be) and "Little Miss Countalong" (performed by the Spin Doctors)
Nessa, I am sorry that you were thusly traumatized! I had a recurring nightmare as a child of being chased by- get this- the big purple thing from the McDonald's commercials. What was its name- Ah, Grimace my husband says it was, well I always dreamed he was chasing me. . .with a baseball bat!
I was so glad when they stopped showing that guy on tv for awhile.
Even if I was healthy enough for the thrill rides- I don't like them. Trusting my life to the people of commercial airlines is as daring as I get.

Last year my friends and I were taking a road trip out to Cedar Point in Ohio.
At one point, we were going to be stopping at an upcoming rest area when "Love Shack" came on the radio or iPod. It prompty got re-lyriced on the fly as "Rest Stop" which we belted out the entire next few miles until we pulled off. (And I have most of it on video, too)
Lines that I recall:
"You see a faded sign at the side of the road that says 15 miles to the REEESSTTTT STOOOOPPPPP!!!!!"
"Sign says: 'Pull of here, fools', 'cause rest rules, at the Rest Stop."
"...is a little old place where we can piss together..."
"Folks lining up outside just to get a stall..."
"Park, park, park in the lot, Brian..." "Park a little faster, sugar!"
(This last line was perfectly timed, as it was actually happening as we were pulling into the lot)

Drifting even further OT... :) There's an awesome hardcover book out called "Sesame Street: Unpaved" that has a lot of behind the scenes stuff, trivia -- including what celebrities have appeared, scripts, lyrics, and lots of pictures. It's written for grown-ups who have fond memories of the show. For instance, they show pictures of Oscar the Grouch in his first season -- when he was colored orange! There's a great story, too, about Carroll Spinney being invited on Mr. Roger's Neighborhood as Big Bird -- but with the requirement that he take off Big Bird's head on-camera and talk about performing the character!!! Spinney naturally protested, so a compromise was reached. Big Bird could appear, but only in the "Land of Make Believe."
Yes, I'm still a kid at heart. RIP Fred Rogers.

I remember when Big Bird was on Mr. Rodger's! In my family, someone will start to hum "Let's think of something to do while we're waiting..." when we want someone to hurry up.
I always loved the factory scenes where they show you how things are made. I remember telling my mom proudly that one day I'll quit school and I'll be working in a factory too. She nearly had a heart attack since she and my dad were factory workers. I think she was very relieved that was one dream I didn't persue when I graduated from college last year. :p:
