Those little moments really stay with people- you'll never know how many years later.

Back in 2000 , when my husband graduated college I stole him away to WDW for a holiday weekend just us two. My daughter (from previous marriage)was a toddler when we'd married the year before and with us when we got married in FL so we never had a traditional honeymoon.

I was sick on the trip (of course- it wasn't anything contageous though) and while we were muddling through anyway, someone did the smallest thing but it made my night.

We were getting on Buzz and my husband had bought me one of those princess wreath hats they used to sell in the Castle (whhaaaa, my castle shop *sniff) and as we were loading onto the ride the Buzz CM said "How many?" Hubby replied 2 and the CM bowed, and held his arm out and said, "My lady!" as I stepped into the car *giggle*

My husband thought it was great too and we smiled for the rest of the night-and still smile when we think about it as a great Disney moment.

Another snapshot from our last trip with a great CM Moment:

We were on the GMR. A child behind us was REALLY freaking out and I was so mad at her mother or whoever the adult woman was who was with her because she didn't even attempt to comfort her. The child next to the freaked out child tried to comfort her. Finally, I turned around and I whispered to the freaking out child that she didn't need to worry, the ride was pretend and would be over soon. I told her that I would keep her safe (I was in the row in front and right next to our gangster)

Our Gangster was well aware that very little could be heard over the din of this child's screeching and he really went over the top in his performance of the show- he was the best Mugsy we'd seen in many trips - the best since the very first one we had back when the Studios were new.

I took the opportunity to banter with him- since you know he was doing my dream job- and the results were priceless.

The car pulls into the old west scene:

Mugsy: I don't like the looks of this! This place gives me the creeps!"

Me (after his mic is off) What, like Detroit? (I grew up near there, so I feel I can joke about the city with impugnity LOL)

Mugsy: "Hey, it's nuthin' like Detroit I do good business in Detroit!"

Me: "What, down by the docks?"

Mugsy: "SHUT UP, LADY!" while waving his gun and glaring at me.

ROFL I don't know who enjoyed it more, me or my family LOL

LOL, one day I was on GMR this winter and it cascaded. So I was in the Gangster scene for like 10 minutes. Like three gangsters came out and were like "who broke the car?" "Dunno, probably one of 'em tourists" There was an overhead PA announcement that said "Drivers you are clear to proceed on to your next block light" and then the Gangster was like "Listen! God's talking again!" It was one of the most enjoyable downtimes I've ever had.

ROFL! Man, why can't I ever be on the ride during downtimes like THAT? We got stuck in the alien encounter room for ten minutes once and my sister- who was an adult already at the time was freaked out. Finally to keep her from getting any more tense I leaned over and whispered in my best Daffy Duck voice. . .

"Thith, ith Alienth. You are aboard the lothed thip Noththththttrolo. . ."

OK, it's settled. I'll be wearing my Guest of Honor name tag. If any of you are working at DL or DCA Thursday and see two guys, one wearing a red Guest of Honor name tag that says, "Randy", that's my brother-in-law and me (I'm the one with the name tag of course :) )!

I always look forward to my trips to Disneyland, but now I'm looking forward to this one more than usual. Almost overcomes my nerves about ToT and the Sun Wheel (almost).

Are custom GOH tags still available around WDW somewhere? I'd like one but the spelling of my name is a little odd.

I think you can still get them at the Christmas Shop in DTD, way in the back area with the non-Disney merchandise.

And even though I am temporarily at DHS, I don't go into the stores but I think they have them at the 5&10. This is about halfway up the group of stores on your right on Hollywood Blvd when you are facing the Hat.

Thanks. I can check out the Christmas Store after I go to Casting my first day down there.
