How can anyone have a perfect Disney Day at DLR without hooking up with the Bubble Ladies!

If I was there, The day would not be complete without meeting both Elena and Elyse.

Nothing else would matter to me!
golly gee cb...i'm a bit embarrassed :o: ...and flattered too...as i'm sure elyse is as well...but, gee, we're just a couple of ap's who happen to enjoy sharing a bit of fun and showing our appreciation for the hard work we know cm's do...on a couple of the tags i sometimes write "share a smile" or "share some fun" and that's what it's about...just having cm's not running away in terror or hearing them say "oh, no, it's those crazy women again" :notallthe means so much to us...but when they actually look happy to see us that really makes our day...maybe even better is when we can get a cm from looking like this :badmood: to looking like this :D:

to the Bubble Ladies:

I have been meaning to ask you. Have you been to WDW and if so have you spotted (in the Mission: Space gift shop) the "Touch-a-bubbles"? It comes in a green test tube shaped container with a pocket clip and a long bubble wand attached to the inside of the cap. The thing about this particular bubble liquid is that the bubbles harden in the air and can actually be caught, stacked, etc. Even when they hit the ground they tend to bounce and roll across the floor. So if you do this indoors you can actually cover the floor of a room with bubbles (that "snap" when walked on). I have even had bubbles last upwards of 4 days! It's kind of fun to blow a bunch of these bubbles outddors in a very light airflow and watch the kids go crazy watching bubbles bounce down the sidewalk. :D:

BTW, I have searched on the web and they are available outside WDW too (even in by-the-case lots). :) I have also found a similar item under the name Catch-a-bubble.

I arrive at the parking structure with my wife and daughter. We ride the tram to the gates, jump off with the crowd and stroll to security. A quick look through our bag and we walk to the gates. After a short wait in line, we get in and a CM comes up and lets us know that he is on his way.

After a short wait, through the left tunnel, Walt comes through smiling and waving. A few hugs and hand shakes later, he asks if we are ready for our tour and we spend the day walking and listening to Walt as he tell us all about Disneyland and the inspiration behind it. We have dinner at club 33 with Walt and finish the night in VIP seats listening to the Firehouse Five plus 2. Walt walks us to the front gates. More hugs, handshakes and thank you's and we board a tram back to the parking structure and head home.

We've tried those bubbles. In fact, have a number of "tubes" of them...
However, they are messy. They drip endlessly, when they pop on people, we get nasty looks & even our own kids give us a hard time about them. Yet, under just the right conditions, those bubbles fly from one side of Fantasyland over the Materhorn & into Tomorrowland. We try to tell the other guests that the bubbles wash right out & virtually turn into lint, but it's just easier not to deal with it. Believe it or not, there are SOME people who complain about plain old soap bubbles! I just tell them they won't have to use soap when they shower that night... ]

After I wrote the last message I noticed that the C-a-b brand also has two new formulations. They are non-toxic, water soluable, and scented! They are made for pets. The dog formula is scented with peanut butter and the cat formula is scented with catnip. I don't have a dog but I may try the dog formula as I like peanut butter. :D:

Now to drag myself back on topic. My "perfect day", that's easy. Any day that I can spend in the parks. Nothing more, nothing less. :D:

ICStupidPeople wrote:Hey all,

If you could have a "perfect" day at disneyland (not WDW for purpose of this study), what would it consist of?

No ideas are too out of bounds for this thread (other than strippers and midgets Darph..and minnie licking body shots off of you..let's keep it G rated..hehe)

Mine may be starting off by riding the train with Mickey, then walking down main street with some characters, having breakfast with them and getting to ride a couple of my favorite rides with them and the bubble ladies...

Then maybe lunch at Blue Bayou..a private tour during the busy hours of the day, then watching the fireworks with the characters, then off to Grand Californian for a "beverage" and bed.

I realize mine is a bit extreme, but I am interested to hear things that some people would like to do that maybe they've never had a chance to do

there is a method to my madness, but I can't say why I'm asking this, but it's a study of sorts, so ideas are always welcome
Gee, I was gonna post this BEFORE I read what Elena had to say & I have to say I agree with her about most of it...
I would LOVE to take the "secret-under-wraps-stuff-you-never-get-to-see" tour. Let me see how the simulators on Star Tours looks from underneath. A complete walking tour of the Haunted Mansion with & without the lights...going "down below" to see how it looks, expecially in the Ballroom scene.
All the dark rides in Fantasyland with the lights on & off...walking through. Let me wander through Pirates...Allow me a photo or two with my arms wrapped around the animatronic/animotronic Johnny Depp (The scene from the Market Place) Put me behind the scenes...it wouldn't spoil a bit of the magic for me...only increase the awe & wonder of what a little paint & lighting will do! Who cares about eating...I'd be too busy gawking to even be hungry!!!
Let me ride on the merry-go-round three times in a row...
Although going further into Club 33 beyond the foyer would be totally awesome. We heard there are some movie artifacts that we'd love to see just mere steps from where we were standing.
(It took a lot of reserve not to go tearing up the stairs to grab a peak of a very cool phone booth used in the movie "The Happiest Millionaire")
But one of my biggest dreams has always been to "hide out" & spend the night in the park & see it devoid of guests, most CMs & still...or as still as it is at night, with all that cleaning going on!

I've been backstage of Star Tours at WDW. My uncle used to be an engineer at Studios and he took me down there. First he showed me one of the computer rooms, full of the computers that control one of the similators. Then we stepped right inside of the simulator rooms as it was going. Looks like a normal simulator except is a story off the ground. The boarding ramps are drawbridges that raise up out of the way so they're out of the way of the vehicle. There is a large yellow duct that hooks up the bottom. It is for the A/C, which is very important as if it goes out the cabin will heat up very fast and the passengers would almost immediately start getting sick because of the motion.

I've also been backstage at Tower of Terror. I've seen the HUGE electric motors that control the drops.

Around here, however, we don’t look backwards for very long.

We keep moving forward, opening up new doors and doing new things, because we're curious…
and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths.

Just like normal simulators (I've been in one a few times with my pilot friend), except these had hydraulic fluid in puddles around the sim, which is normal I'm told.
