Mayo, I read your thing about craving salt, and my mind was transported to the scene between the Doctor and Donna where he needs salt to combat his poisoning.

For those of you not into Doctor Who, what are you waiting for? Go out and get the DVD's.

I had to give up fast food, french fries and other foods with high amounts of salt. I also gave up ice cream and did this because it causes kidney problems with me. I have a salt shaker filled with salt and it was filled after I moved into my place. What I can't stand is seeing a popcorn vendor add salt to the popcorn solution before it goes into the kettle. Then when the SG buys it and shakes on a container to it.

Ditto here! I eat my share of junk food, but I no way live off if it. I love the stuff, but I know my limits and I also make up for it by eating healthier on some days. And as I have said many times is that I work long hours on a very physical job, which at times keeps me from eating anything close to a decent meal. I make up for it with meal replacement shakes or light snacks to keep me going.

Practicing portion control is a great way to eat out, eat the things you love, but also limit what your intake is. About 90% of the time I always get a child's meal because that is what about my intake is. Or simply just order appetizers or bring your left overs home and eat them another time.

I've never had any problems with eating out because I know my body and I know my limits.

That's my theory on that terrible "Super Size Me." It's not the dangers of McDonald's, is about gullible nincompoops who say "yes" no matter what. He was told never to deny a super sized meal- that's dumb! People have minds of there own and should know their boundaries (Unless they're SGs).

Rant over, thank you. *get's down off of the soapbox, then trips*

It's a Star Trek reference. The first episode of the series aired back in 1966 was The Man Trap, in which an old flame of McCoy's turned out to be a Salt Vampire. Her name was Nancy Crater.

Hmm...kinda sounds like a screwed-up translation.
