MAPO
MAPO & all, meeting wasn't magical. There are sanctions in place. Remember who we work for? The All Powerful Mouse. Postings will continue when we feel a calm. Don't forget Ernie's FB. I'd like more to join & support this cause. http://www.facebook.com DisneyLand flag retreat

Saturday Ernie walked tall and quickly toward the flag pole to thank and salute veterans. Sitting calmly at the circle was a service pup in training who hadn't made a sound during band music nor as Color Guard marched on stage. As Ernie walked into the flower circle the cute pup suddenly sat up and greeted him with a gruff warning bark. In perfect form Ernie turned to the pup in training - saluted him and thanked him for his service. Ernie broadly smiled and laughed as guests applauded. Such a great thespian recovery by Ernie. Was a fun Flag Retreat. :dog1:

I think they should consider having a flag raising ceremony during Grad Nites. It doesn't have to be anything fancy. It can be just the color guard and a recording of the Star Spangled Banner like they do for the flag retreat without either the Dapper Dans or the Disneyland Band. :D:

American Flag can't be raised before sunrise, or so I understand. Very few if any 3rd shift DLS Officers have been trained by Ernie. Color guard is Ernie's. Getting him to the park on a Grad Night - not a chance in h...!!!!

By the time the flag is due to be raised, many of the "Partying High School Seniors" are "Passed Out High School Seniors." :D:

Which simply means that Security must attend to this 'fire hazard,' first and foremost.

Okay, I've read all of the way through this apalling thread.

What was the final outcome? The FB page looks like it's been taken over by the Park.

Ernie is still doing his thing, but Vets still are not able to hold the flag and there is still the risk of Ernie losing his job if he decides to honor a Vet. Oh, the FB page is still in "friendly" hands :)
