But I'm going to put in a bid (or as bid-like as CP's can do at least) for some pretty quiet places, mostly so I can hang out with my friends... The bears from Brother Bear are at Canada, and Canada entertainment shares a break room with Soarin'. And Max is sometimes at Blizzard Beach, and their breaktent is right next to the break from for the lifeguards and slide ops. I figure no one else wants shifts like that, so I'll take 'em. I also probably have less of a chance of being mauled!
Larkin, the Bears are currently not at Canada right now.

Damnit. Maybe they're just taking a break or something? I'd like to get at least one shift there. They have to have some character at Canada, otherwise there's nothing to do there, except shop and buy food and wait for Off Kilter.

EeyoresButterfly wrote: You do have to be prepared for the possibility though. I knew one person who had to switch roles after a kid grabbed her head and swung by it. Had her CP been longer she would have been able to go back, but she was going to be on light duty for too long so she switched roles. I know another person who has had their ribs bruised by a cheerleader who punched him. These incidents are very few and far between (my worst guest related injury was the aforementioned migraine), but they do happen and you have to be prepared for the possibility. That is why teamwork between the attendant and character is important. That is why it is also important to keep an eye on the guests and be aware of your surroundings.
Oh my goodness, that is horrible! Why do guests do these things?

Simply, "Because it's funny!"

Sad, but true.

It is very sad that there are people who being violent and/or mean is funny. There is never a reason to hit or otherwise be mean to a character.

No. They are gone at least through the summer.

It could have to do with staffing. During the summer, we need a lot more people to fill the normal roles, add to that the increase in parades (Spectro goes every night twice a night) and the longer hours necessitating more characters there longer, and some of the smaller roles will get cut so those people can fill roles elsewhere.

That's probably why Figment was cut too.

(First time poster alert!!!)

I have an apology and a thank you ...

First, the apology.
I am related (by marriage) to a family of SG's.
My SiL and her family could find something to complain about if they won the lottery, and are CURRENTLY at WDW as i type this.

They have brought my nephew (3) and his cousin (8) there for this past week.
They went to MK for EMH and i guess there was a slight 5 minute delay in opening the park.

A CM came over to them and the parents started to loudly complain about the wait, the money they spent etc etc (oh i am so embarrassed).

The CM then said "if you will stop complaining for a moment we are trying to give you a "Magic Moment" to which SiL said "NO MAGIC MOMENT WILL MAKE UP FOR THIS "

Now if i was the the CM i would have then turned to the next family and given it to them, but no... they were given a private audience with Mickey and friends at his house.

M apoligies to the CM who have to eal with rude crass obnoxious people like that.

But also a thank you to that CM, (and b extension ALL CM's) who put up with this treatment day in day out making magic for everyone else, and helped make my nephews (poor kid couldn't pick his parents) first trip to WDW a Magical and memorable experience.

My family is going next month (Aug 1!!!) and taking his step sister (8) with us for HER first trip and are looking forward to all of our own Magical Moments (official or not) that the staff of WDW will be participating in.

You folks deserve all the thanks and props you get!!!
