We just had a situation this week at TL. A Guest from the UK lost her prescription glasses and filled out a Lost & Found Card. Around Park Closing one of the sets of glasses turned in belonged to that Guest.
One of our GR people tried to call, and even got a manager's approval for the phone operator to make an international call, as the cell phone number provided was from UK. Unfortunately the Guest phone company did not relay the incoming call.
The location where the Guest was staying was a couple of miles from where the GR person lived; so after she had dinner she and her husband drove to the Guests location. Nobody was home so they left a note.
The next morning I took a phone call from the Guest and passed the phone to the other person there. About an hour later the Guest showed up to retrieve the glasses and presented a large (probably about $25) bouquet to the other CM. Anyway, the two coordinators who were on duty, as well as the manager, did allow the CM to keep the flowers and take them home with her.
Everyone was very surprised at the Guests reaction.

Wow, that was really nice of the guest!

The policy is that it is a clear plastic bottle with clear liquid. I only use bottle that have a screw cap on them in my sleeve for sanitary reasons. I have had this fight with the "blue bloods" often and I win 99% of the time on the first try. Now if a CM uses a twist on bottle, they should make every efort to make it one that does not indictae a certin product... Like Pepsi or what ever.

I'm curious- why would you have problems with bottles that have screw caps? What kind of bottles do they expect you to use?

I think Dr. McKey is referring to preferring to use a screw-top bottle, as opposed to the nozzle-top bottles that are provided. Basic thinking would be that the nozzle is exposed to who knows what, whereas a screw-on cap would keep the who knows what off the surfaces you drink from.

If you were trying to be altruistic in your "gift" giving, why didn't you remain anonymous?
its because of a sense of entitlement and your ego's that are telling you its okay, despite any information your receive to the contrary.
I feel sorry for the poor CM's that may get a raw deal out of your self justified boondoggle.
very well said! Sorry you have to keep saying it over and over - obviously self entitled people are NEVER going to "get it" Polite CM's will always be "on stage" and wouldnt dream of disappointing a Stupid Guest that hand them a bag of crap... the CM of course will accept the stupid guests bag of crap in front of the stupid guest.
(and there are at least 50,000 runners/volunteers that witnessed the top of the water glasses freezing over, some volunteers were shouting "slushies" or "frozen water" I have NEVER seen water freeze that fast - but you could squeeze the cup and break up the "ice" so it wasnt a thick layer by any means - just confirmation that it was FREAKING cold marathon day!)

Just thought y'all might find this Board X post interesting:
"Update as promised. I received a call from Anna in Guest Services. She told me that guests are allowed to give "nominal" gifts to CM's and stated that the small bags of wrapped candy fell in that type of nominal gift. It is up to the CM to accept or decline the gift. She stated that CM would never be disciplined or fired for taking a small token given by a guest. She told me it was a great ideal and when she worked as a CM in the park, guest often brought small gifts for CM's. She stated that this happens more frequently around the holidays. No flames here, just reporting as promised what Guest Services told me from my email."

Pity we don't work for Anna. I also pity any CM who tries to use this report to justify accepting something their manager decides is more than "nominal".
