Gosh, those hills look brown. I don't remember them being quite so arid. Is there still a drought in Hawaii?

Glad to see the construction coming along. There's a big DVC announcement coming up soon, and we're all wondering if they are going to announce when sales at Aulani will begin.

It's been a very dry winter. There were a couple of heavy storms but not enough to get the water tables up to where they should be.

Oh, wow, it's really coming along!

So, have we contacted anyone at Disney about having a reserved SGT Suite there?

Is this the Big Island? If so, I may have to schedule a trip home so I can go chec it out. Apologies for any misspellings tonight. DH cooked awesome ribeyes on the grill and I'm hitting the Shiraz hard. :D:

Ko Olina in on the west coast of Oahu. It's a planned resort area with four man made lagoons and a yacht harbor. DVC's next door neighbor is a Marriott time share.

Ahhh, gotcha. I grew up in part on the North Shore. Interesting they chose to put this on Oahu...I'd have chosen Maui instead, just based on my personal experiences. A lot of Oahu is...well, kind of like Los Angeles - it's all paved. Outside of Honolulu isn't as bad but if I wanted that urban tropical experience, I could go to Orlando or Miami.

Meh, just my $.02 worth, free free to ignore, point and laugh, whatever.

Maui wouldn't allow the building height seen in the picture. There's probably no land left in the resort districts to support a project of this size either.
