they need to modify that coaster for everyday use, from what i understand, it's designed for seasonal use, and it can't handle the stresses being put on it, and gets work done nightly.

When we have a downtime on Screamin, regardless if we need to evac or not, every brake zone needs to be reset. And while we welcome the occasional downtime, I am terrified of having to climb Zone 4 again. I did it during training, and hopefully I won't need to do it again. Unless, I become trainer some day. For those of you who don't know, Zone 4 is the highest point on the coaster, it's the part that has the Mickey head on it. It's an amazing view, but for those who hate heights, or, as in my case, stairs, it can be terrifying!
Space is the space way. Its great. If its just a cascade, sometime we could complete the reset in about 20 minutes.

Just last week, Astro went 101 just because the computer wouldn't read that the South gate, by Plaza Inn, was locked. So it had an Auto E-Stop. We had to get maintaince down there to fix it. So, how many maintance does it take to tighten the metal plate on an exit gate??? :D 3 or 4!!! :P

From my experance since Disney has started using outside companies to build their attractions many of the rides have frequent 101s due to the fact that these companies are creating rides mostly for seasonal parks. From what I've seen just about everyday something goes 101 in each park, and it's mostly the coasters, or Test Track. Many of these rides are not designed to handle the stresses of constant operation all year.

That's like the time at Pooh the station stop button was pressed but not really at Dispatch and we couldn't recover from a station stop (we tried cycling the mushroom buttons). Trevor the manager watched us not recover. When I got back from evacing there were not the usual 1 or 2 maintanence guys but 3 and Glenn (the guy in charge that signs off on attraction card thingy on the west side). Plus the lead, plus Trevor was still there. Maintenence said it was our fault for a z34. We said it couldn't be we could not recover from a station stop. When they powered the attraction back up the station stop light was still on (if the mushroom button was pulled up like it was it wouldn't be on) then the maintenence people all went "oh"

why were you powered down in the first place? was it a test to see what was going on.

Stduck wrote:YES IT IS THE MOST EVIL ATTRACTION EVER! It breaks down all the time. In the 10 months I have worked the mansion (maybe its 11 now....) I have NEVER evacuated Mansion. In the 3.5 months I have known Pooh, I lost count of the number of times I have evacuated Pooh after 5. It's just button pushing.....
That's the way all of the dark rides are. People don't realize how easy they are to break down. If people are slow or we're backed up and someone sticks there hand out/takes a picture with flash we're dead. If you think you've evacuated Pooh millions of time just multiply that by 5 and you've got the classics. Snow, Toad, and Pinn are easy evacs but it's a pain in the butt to evac Alice and Pan. But then again I'm not really complaining cause after a few months of working on the classics downtimes become fun and you almost wish for them. The only problem is making an intentional breakdown look like an accident....

When your ride auto e-stops you power down the attraction.

Indy must be a bit different, b/c we've come up from auto e-stops w/o powering down, then agian, we got another auto e-stop right after that b/c the vehicle that cause the first one spazzed agian, facilities had to go reposition it, and we wound up powering down and back up agia, we still had like five more ride stops after that for various zone time outs.

Yeah it is different. When we didn't have keys at each attraction we used to never hit the power disconnect but now it's part of procedure because the power disconnect must be down to lock and tag out which you kinda have to do to evac.
