If you drive a black SUV with government plates, I would have to say yes.
My opinions are mine and mine only. If my opinions are the opinion of others who happen to share whatever my crazy views may be, then fine, but it's not because I represent them in having my opinions. Got it?

In my defense, the keys were just sitting around. Plus, when people see the presidential limo coming down the road, they get out of your way. Especially with all those guys following you with the flashy lights.Big Wallaby wrote:If you drive a black SUV with government plates, I would have to say yes.

A friend of mine was a bike cop in San Jose. He was doing traffic control during a visit by then VP Hubert Humphrey. He was told not to expect any VIP traffic through his intersection.
Things are calm when all of a sudden a limo comes out of nowhere and blows through the intersection. He sees another one coming and steps in its path waving it to a stop. He starts to approach the drivers door when he's suddenly confronted with a bunch of Uzis and 9mm pistols sticking out the windows. Turned out the Secret Service decided to take the VP on an alternate route to the airport and not tell anyone.

Don't be fooled by appearances. In Hawaii, some of the most powerful people look like bums and stuntmen.

And what about the clever folks who shop here ??ktulu wrote:I used to have a shirt that said FBI on the back, purchased from the actual FBI. I also have a lanyard that says "Secret Service" on it, also purchased from the same agency. If I wear these, am I impersonating either of these agencies?

That depends. Worn alone, perhaps not. However, if you were wearing the lanyard, a dark suit with white shirt and tie, sunglasses, and an earpiece, one wouldn't be out of line thinking you were attempting to look like an actual member of the Secret Service.ktulu wrote:I used to have a shirt that said FBI on the back, purchased from the actual FBI. It isn't just that they were wearing the clothes, or that they were driving that fire truck, it was a combination of the two, at the very least. I must admit, I have a hard time believing that when they pulled this stunt, they were going "Oh, they are letting us in because we are dressed nice and have a fancy truck, not because they think we are actually fire fighters on official business".
