I'm sure the crews of the steam trains will welcome the cold :)

That's why they're now calling it "global climate change." ;)

I remember the train engineers at Knott's saying it gets 15 to 20 degrees hotter than the air tempeture in those steam engine cabs--nice when it's cold out, but when it's summer, during a record heat wave, and for the image you're wearing flannel shirts and denim overalls, and for safety you have to wear heavy gloves, socks and steeltoe shoes--ugh. I felt sorry for them. Putting a fan in the cab wouldn't do any good, either. No outlets to plug it into, anyway.

My husband and I were at Disney last January (for the marathon and after) and it was nearly that cold allll week. It was kind of a bummer, but given it was 0 at home with windchills of -20, well, we couldn't complain.

Much!

...and only to each other. But I got some great pictures of the morning steam from the river at POR.

As I've told a few people already, I was a small child the last time I wore long underwear.

I think Walt should have put Disney World on the Big Island.

Today it was 83 in Anaheim.

This week is to start in the 80's and cool down.

If anyone needs to defrost, come to CA.

Except for the vog it would be a great place. There is plenty of land available.

Shorty82 - it's currently 33 degrees in your home town, headed down to 24 tonight. Down to 23 tomorrow night with a high of 45. Below freezing at night the rest of the week. I'm putting blankets on Gidget and the greyhounds at night and covering all the plants.
It never stays this cold for this long. At least it will kill some of the mosquitoes, roaches, fleas and other nasties that can't hide long enough to escape this wintry chill.
