It's the new American Idol show at Studios.

I don't see this decision lasting very long. Once this change happens, Fantasmic will be the reason for the most complaints (in my opinion).

I know it will be for me. I know WDW is a business, but I keep feeling like the things that make it worth the amount of money trips cost are slowly dwindling away.

For me, there are exactly 5 things in all of Studios that I go for:
  1. Mickey Mouse as the Sorcerer's Apprentice (aka Sorcerer Mickey)
  2. Star Tours
  3. Midway Mania
  4. Fantasmic!
  5. Did I mention Sorcerer Mickey?
Before Midway Mania opened and they had removed Sorcerer Mickey, I didn't really see much point in Studios at all, and I can guarantee American Idol is NOT going to improve that for me.

Dont forget the upcomming attractions...

1: Monsters Inc. Coaster ( Linier induction hagning coaster ) going in at Studio 1

2: Cars Road Rally ( think of it as test track on the ground... )

3: Star Tours 2.0 ( using the ToT randomizer gen. in the computer )

4: Tower of Terror 5.0 ( Its so freaking bad a$$ i cant even give it its just due credit in text format )

5: Possable revamp of Lights motor Action

6: and dont forget that the Beuty and the beast show is going to close in the next year....

1. That sounds like so much fun! I can't wait for it to open! Where exactly is Studio 1 in the park?

6. When? I love the Beauty and the Beast show. I don't want it to close. :(

Star Tours 2.0 should be awesome, and I had no idea there was going to be a Cars Road Rally.

Unfortunately, I'm not so much into extreme rides... never been on ToT or RnR, though I love Test Track.

I believe this refers to Soundstage 1 where Sorcerer Mickey did his greetings prior to the closure for Pixar Place.

In between Pixar Place and the Backlot Tour entrance.

I've heard about the coaster but did not know it was going to be a linear induction hanging coaster. Nor did I know about Cars Road Rally or new versions of Star Tours and Tower of Terror.

Shame that Beauty and the Beast is closing. I love that show. Any ideas why it is closing and what is going into the space?

From the word I hear, budget cuts and it's gonna hurt entertainment people the most, unfortunately. I have no idea why, as to me ... guests come for the whole entertainment aspect of Disney. I have been thinking about going equity for sometime now and have been seeing that lots of shows are getting the ax. Although they blame it in the coming of AI, I believe it's that they are budget cutting and wanna ax the entertainment peeps first. Heck, I can't even get 6th day work time cause they would rather give the "pick up" days to CP's cause it they are paid less. Oh .. and Liberty Tree - Goofy and the gang are gonna get the boot outta the tavern come January.
